@HailTheQueen: She did that to me the second time, because I accidentally clicked something about my Warden being there for her when Marjolaine wasn't, not realizing that had a romantic connotation. But with my first play she was as platonic as could be, wanted to talk all about how Alistair was in bed. Luckily it should be easier in DA2 with the clear labels for flirt options.

Is it bad that I'm now imagining this comic with Anders and a MHawke that just broke up with Isabela?

You know, I really suspect they had the whole of Awakenings set up as an intro to DA2. NONE of the other characters flirt with you. Only Anders. And he has all that flirting dialogue with Velanna, and he ogles the statue of Andraste, he was specifically designed for people's love interest alerts to go off. I strongly suspect we Awakening Anders fans were completely had.

....And I'm totally fine with that.

ETA @ Threeparts OMG I am laughing so hard at that.

Right? I think I'm as excited about the LIs as I am the actual game almost 
I was always so bummed he wasn't romancable in Awakenings so it's awesome we all get to play it out now!

Uh I jsut finished wish hunt and when i went for a stamina Draught i Saw Sir-Pounce-Alot in my Corcle thing. I hope i get to meet up with Anders one more Time because he forgot to take Ser-Pounce-Alot with him when he quit the Wardens. I can see it happening now.



A bar cutscene fades in with my warden drinking some Ale with Oghren and Dog and Dog licks his mug and my Warden turns his head to his right and looks at a strange man walk in.

Drake: Hey Oghren

Oghren: What Commander?

Drake: Isn't that anders?

Oghren: Who?

Drake: The mage that escape the Circle seven times?

Oghren: Who?

Drake: Man skirt wearing freak...

Oghren: Yea what about him?

Drake: Should i give him his Cat back?

Oghren: Nah trade it in for a nug and dress it up like a cat and then give it to him when he's drunk then we get the cat back and have a nice laugh. But i have to admit that Robe advice worked.

Drake: I dont really care.



Anders walks up to the wardens table with a suspicious look

Anders: I knew i remembered you...commander

Drake: Anders Nice to see you oh i got a present for you



Drake hands anders ser pounce alot

Anders: Aw Thanks i forgot him so many years ago.

Drake: Good thing i didn't go through that portal.

Anders: So...

Drake: How about you ditch the Hawke guy and we can go kill some templars like the good old days.

Anders: Sorry me and Justice are now one with eachother and we are goign to destroy the chantry, templars, and Circles and Hawke promised he would help.

Yes... our emotions were manipulated and toyed with... I kept waiting for an opportunity to "further" the romance, but... it never came.

@Batteries it's interesting that they picked Anders rather than Nate though. I'd give a lot to know how much of DA2 was written by the time Awakenings went out. It came out what? six months after DA? I got DA late so I'm not sure...

Nate's storyline in Awakening was much more closely tied to Origins, though, what with the whole Cousland / Howe (...not that way  angle.  That arc got wrapped up rather neatly within Awakening, too, since he pretty well came to terms with his family angst within the course of the game.  I'm sure there are other story paths you could play with for Nathaniel, but what we've seen so far at least was very much an extension of the first game.  Anders was new, and his story was something that didn't depend on anything in particular from Origins, just the overall lore.  So it's a little easier to branch out there without worrying about having to bring newbie players up to speed -- especially since Hawke's family story is going to feed the players a whole lot of what they'll need to know about mages / templars / etc. anyway.
