I'm starting to think they brought him back just so they had a familiar mage to use for this plot, because no one would feel sympathetic of a character in the same situation they didn't know. ;-;

I was skeptical of Greg Ellis to begin with. That trailer sounded nothing like him. Some claimed it did, others suspected it might be the vengeance voice. So, yeah.

Sad to hear he's not doing it again, personally. I thought he had fine delivery for a humorous character. And am hoping that trend continues on both fronts.

I was chalking up the trailer voice as Vengeance, but it's more than just the voice. It's not Anders phrasing at all and now I'm all doom and gloom because the more that's revealed the more it seems like he's going to be really, really different in all but appearance.

He voiced Silas in Leliana's song, and Constable Aidan in Awakening.  He doesn't have a large credit list, but I'm looking into another role he played on a television show.

I think I'll replay those DLCs to get a feel for the voices he can do.

We knew Anders had been changed. I personally think there's a lot of sense in altering the VA for this reason. I'm sure he'll be great - after all, look at all the other brilliant VAs the devs have picked.

I'm going to trust that there was a good reason for the decision, however naive I might appear as a result.

Yes, he really has changed... I would actually stretch as far to guess that the two have made a different character with elements of both. But we can only wait now.

Alright, I'll survive. He sounded pretty close in the "Anders says Hello" video. And Silas was cool (and looked a bit like Anders too).
I only regret that I won't be able to joke about Anders in Pirates 4 anymore.

Adam Howden's voice is fine, but I enjoyed Greg Ellis as Anders as part of the whole package. And with the extreme grim-dark changes, PLUS the change of voice actor, I'm far more hesitant to be excited about Anders returning. I guess I'll just have to decide if I like the new version...

What I'm thinking now it's that Mr. Ellis was not convincingly pulling off Justice/Vengeance Anders? That voice that we heard in his intro was very serious and perhaps needed a different touch. Things like this have happened -- I mean, heck, Isabela and Merrill also have replacement actors.

Ahaha, oh boy.  Speculation for two weeks.  This is going to end BADLY.  But, saying "Anders has complete freak outs in the game and he needed a different quality voice for that" would be considered spoiling.   Besides, we don't have corpse rottage this time around.  Allegedly.

Ah now that I watch the Silas clip it does sound like the Anders in the DA2 gameplay.



Can't say I'm disappointed yet but it does make sense if he's more somber now.

I think I'm actually going to prefer Anders in DAII. Don't get me wrong, I loved him to bits in Awakening but... HE'S NOW AN ABOMINATION WITH A TENDENCY TO EAT PEOPLE.  So cool. Dark and edgier and sexier. Brr.
