Something like, and I'm speculating here so don't have a heart attack, Anders was dead all along and only Justice remains.

K... That's enough heart break for today. :crying:

I have to get out before the speculation kills me!

If... IF... Anders is already dead, I will be killing the hell out of Justice. Sorry friend, but no... no you don't do that crap. You don't be a romanceable and then pull the whole "Oh hai, Anders is dead BTW" on me. D:

No Greg Ellis? ):

Honestly, as long as I get Anders being cute and snarky at least some of the time, I'll be happy.

But Gaiderade saying he can't explain the change in VA without spoilers is a little worrying :U

Doesn't Jennifer Hepler's short story contradict that?

I hope it does. :crying:

What I'm thinking now it's that Mr. Ellis was not convincingly pulling off Justice/Vengeance Anders? That voice that we heard in his intro was very serious and perhaps needed a different touch. Things like this have happened -- I mean, heck, Isabela and Merrill also have replacement actors.

This is a possibility. Still, it's distressing. I thought Ellis was pretty great at conveying crazy/seriousness/vehemence as Cullen and Anders, so maybe he's just lacking that demonic edge or something.

I couldn't help myself; I had to make a dramatic meeting of Anders and my Warden, after reading the short story in the Romance announcement thread.

Sufficiently vague, of course, seeing as how DA2 still isn't out. So, I give you: No Second Chances.

That's what I'm thinking.  If it were more for the spoilerANDERS IS DEAD AND JUSTICE REMAINSendspoiler, wouldn't the guy that voiced Justice just return, and we'd have him voicing Anders instead?  I think his VA was also in the credit list.  Mr. Howden did a good job with the HOLIER THAN THOU voice.

Why do I get the creepy feeling Anders might end up rocking on the floor and crying like that? Posted Image
Ianto is also strangely appropriate, what with Eve Myles voicing Merrill.

I got it! It's because Anders and Vengeance are now one, hence the change in voice. Merging them together. Gaider just forgot about the short story.... *nod*

What?? This isn't denial..... !

This spoiler had better be a darn good reason. Why bring Greg in if you're not going to use his work? If he ends up voicing anyone else I'll throw a fit. That's just maliciously teasing us.

I believe Greg Ellis' name was on the list of additional voice actors.

The fact that Ellis had even been considered in the first place should be some indication that we're not dealing with a man who is only using Anders' name. I really think that, given Gaider's explanation about how voice actors are chosen and how some VAs will record lines that will never be used, it was a delivery issue when it came to the possessed Anders.

Also, I think Ellis had voiced additional characters in the past.  So his name could be on the billing because he voices a NPC or two.

A question for those that have beaten the demo: How spoilery is it? Does it mostly show off combat? I'm not sure if I want to skip it or not.

Okay, so get this idea. Anders is still fully alive. But he remembers all the people that Vengeance has killed and devoured. And it's happened too many times to count. Not just the facts, but the details. Every bite. Every drink of blood. It has sent the true Anders into the darkest corners of his own mind where he does nothing but scream. And that which walks is just the slightest fragment of himself.

There are not really any spoilers, if you already know about what happens to your sibling.

It basically just has the escape from Lothering finishes with meeting Flemeth, and then jumps to a few fights where you help Isabella and meet some enemy of hers.

I think Cullen's rage about the mages is a bit different from "I WILL LAY VENGEANCE UPON ALL THOSE WHO STAND IN MY WAY" in a giant, echo-y voice.  :P

Well there is the ending when Cullen goes bat **** insane and kills mages... but we don't get to hear that. >>
Couldn't they have just used a different VA for just the insane parts? Or... say... super imposed it with Justice's or done some funky tech work? D:

I'm trying to stay positive with the other voices and characters - Myles and Emery show that they've got good taste - but I have to admit that I'm disappointed.

Part of Anders' charm for me was his adorable accent and the amount of expression in his voice. From what I've heard of Howden, he's fine at pacing his words and timing his pauses, but he doesn't have quite the same emotional range. I'm hoping that he'll do better with a more complete, complex character that he could get into - Silas and the Constable weren't exactly deep roles - but I fear that he won't be able to carry off such varied scenes as humour, romance, and scary vengeful demon without it all being a bit awkward.

I know I should give him a chance and see what he's capable of, but while I'm still interested in Anders' story, some of the enthusiasm I had for seeing my favourite character back again is fading.

SERVERS AAAAA

We can only wait now. Two weeks... two weeks. I still find comfort in Ms. Helper's line about him still being the same, snarky Anders about most things. Otherwise, I'd just fall into a fangirlish despair.

Sigh. What was the point of bringing back Anders at all? They might as well have created a new human male
mage for this role. I'm still trying to be hopeful, but the reason I started feeling excited at all (instead of cautiously optimistic) was because of Anders being on the team. Now I don't even know...

And this.

What a total and utter buzzkill. Again.

My enthusiasm has gone down a bit, Anders isn't Anders without that voice.
