Ellis changing paired with Tennant changing? Sad, sad day. I still refuse to accept that Matt Smith is The Doctor now. I'm getting better, but still, I want my Tennant back!

I'm beginning to come to grips with this announcement. I've trusted the writers before, I really don't see how they can do much wrong and they always have valid reasons for doing what they do. So... *shrug*

This.  The VA change bums me out just because I love Greg Ellis's voice, but it hasn't diminished my excitement for Anders at all.  I have faith that it will be great.

After all, none of the Origins characters (especially the romance options) were complete duds.  If there's one thing Bioware can do, it's make compelling characters that I absolutely love.  Maybe I'm just an optimist or a fangirl, but I'm not worried.  Just excited.  Is it March 8th yet?  Sweet goodness, time is passing slowly.

As for the change in VA, I withhold judgement till I play the game.

I stayed up all night to play the demo.
Played a male mage first, since I was dead set on playing a female first. Then a female rogue and just now finished a male warrior. Mage was all sarcastic, rogue was all aggressive and warrior was all compassionate. Completely out of the norm for what you'd imagine each class would typically act like.

I suspect there is a plot reason behind this, since that's basically what DG has said. Several intriguing possibilities come to mind and I'm sure they'll bring it off well.

Well... after getting over the doom and gloom, I found I might be okay with it. Oh. I adore Greg Ellis, but I'm not about to say Anders will be horrible without him anymore. Dramatic fangirl moment I had. Anywaaaay... I can kind of see how this new voice might fit.

Well... that particular bit sounds like a description that might fit Anders.

when I saw Greg Ellis not listed as Anders I kept going and found him on the "Additional Voices" list. And I wonder if it was scheduling -- I see that he's in the upcoming new Pirates of the Carribean movie. Just a thought. I'm also withholding judgement but I admit I was bummed initially!

I'm guessing now that Greg Ellis couldn't pull off the EVIL POSSESSED DEMON angle believably? I don't know. He can pull off angry, but maybe not HOLYCOWSCARY!angry. I kind of always wanted to hug Cullen/Anders when they got grumpy/mad.

Could be, but DG hinted that it was more a game related decision. Somehow I don't think "He was busy with PotC" is a spoiler.

I think it's something along the lines of Vengeance + Anders = new voice. But that doesn't leave out the possibility that Greg is voicing old Anders in some way - ie: possible flashbacks to before he was inhabited or even post de-vengeancing. So. Because he's definitely in the cast list.
