So was Anders a healer in Awakening? Is he healing oriented?

He was a spirit healer in Awakening, so the assumption is that he's a healer in DA2 as well. That, and we meet him as he's healing refugees. Posted Image

Is it possible that we will know the name of Anders specialization before the game comes out, doesn't every party member except the siblings (and possibly Sebastian) have their unique specialization?

I encountered something interesting while playing Origins today and hopefully it hasn't already been mentioned. During the Gauntlet, there's a spirit known as Lady Vasilia who says: "I am justice. I am vengeance. Blood can only be repaid in blood."

Sorry if no one else found it interesting. Also, good gif.=]

@DiosMios it has been mentioned I think :) But it is interesting - Vengeance is such a key concept in most fantasy settings. I'm really looking forward to how it'll play out in this one.

Darn. Yes, vengeance is an incredibly imporant concept in fantasy. There were several varieties of it in Origins (human noble against Howe, Grey Wardens against Loghain, Dwarf Noble against Bhelen, etc.) and there seems to be several varieties in Dragon Age 2 as well (Sebastian's quest, Fenris' quest, possibly Ander's quest). I'm looking forward to how Anders deals with managing his will for vengeance and Vengeance's will for, er, vengeance. I suspect he'll trust Hawke to help him make his decisions.

I too loved Anders in awakenings (one of the few characters I did), but this new grimdark Anders worries me some. We shall see.

He will for sure be my wing-man, like others have said, maybe romance option if I go female route (but heck maybe even male if it's offered, depending on his personality change).

Okay, so I played a new game of Origin just to double check the Prisoner at Ostagar's voice... I think I can see him pulling off Ander's okay. He's played roles with deeper voices, and those have more dialogue than the Prisoner, but the Prisoner has a 'light' voice and seems to manage a bit of snark.

Damn it. I now wish I could have let the poor sod out and recruited him. XD;

Oh, it's *that* guy! That should be awesome!

"I swallowed it."

@Avilia, I thought that line was cute. XD

As I said before, I'm quite optimistic about Anders in DAII. I'm sure he'll be so much awesome, that poor Carver will have to buy his crazy sister a chastity belt or she will besmear the family name.

The prisoner is adorable. Prisoner of Ostagar for DA3? Posted Image

Seriously though, the voice sets me more at ease. It's not Greg Ellis, but I can see how it can pull off an Anders-ly Anders. <3

@Gala its very cute. I love that guy. I'm comfy with him doing the voice (as an interested observer) - I think he can do the tone pretty well. (I blame Pirates for the lack of Greg Ellis ;-) )

I'm still wicked pissed about the no Greg thing. His part in pirates is rather small, from what I understand, and I could totally see BioWare following Greg around with a microphone while he mows his lawn or something, so I really don't understand the decision here. Now, he not only doesn't look like Anders anymore, he won't sound like him, either. Why call him Anders at all? Might as well have made him some other mage.

Sorry. I'm a little bitter right now. I was lied to on these boards way back on the 14th, and I just found out. I'm sure it will all be awesome in the end, but for now, I'm one unhappy camper.

This is how I felt about it, we'll see whether DA2Anders retains any of the things we liked about him in Awakening; but he still has an interesting story, even if he isn't the same.

I'm more hesitant about the romance than ever, though.  If his voice has changed for story reasons, then he is even more different than I thought he would be.  I still want to see his story through, but I'm not really into super tragic love stories in games.  I don't mind them in books, where I feel like an observer, but if I'm the protagonist, I'd like a happy ending in some shape or form...if it's even possible at all...

"Is there a place for me anymore?"

Anders saying goodbye to his one last friend, after the events following Justice/Vengeance's joining.

Probably listened to this song over and over and over again while drawing this thing... It was really hard to draw. But I just don't think our kitty friend will be in DA2. Anders wouldn't want to risk his rage upon his one and only friend.

@Aristorum, I love your lady Hawke, she's so adorable! And deadly serious Anders is deadly hot.

@HolyJellyfish, how sad. Poor Anders. I hope wardens will take care of his cat. Or maybe the cat followed him to Kirkwall. That kitty has many secrets.

MMmmm so much great angsty music! HolyJellyfish, that's just beyond sad. I can just picture poor Pouce A Lot meowing in protest and trying to follow Anders anyway, and Anders having to get more clever at losing him. It's hard to get rid of a determined cat. My neighbor once gave her cat to someone in the country side, and the cat found it's way back to her door step... :o

LOL that would be so sad if Ser Pounce somehow trekked his way from Ferelden to Kirkwall.   Even thinking about it makes me really sad... I am a proud cat owner and I know how stubborn and determined cats can be.
