So do our Awakening endings have no effect at all? Seems kind os stupid to put him in as a companion if it screws up all the previouse knowledge, but I'll wait and see no point in crucifing anyone for a game I haven't played yet. (besides the demo.)

He will be alive and he (apparently) will be a Grey Warden, no matter what.

So, guys, our Official thread hasn't been around very long, and Ms Hepler doesn't seem to frequent the forums often, so we haven't had much writerly contact in here over the last 16 days.
This isn't a bad thing, and I don't expect them to drop everything to cater to us, but I'm curious about your takes on it: do you think it's a good thing that most of our information is fan speculation, so that we're not spoiled with information on Anders before DA2's release? Do you think we won out, since our companion has already been in a game where we got to know him (or at least that incarnation of him)? Or do you wish you had more Word of God tidbits on his new personality or history?

Nope, I'm super happy all we have is speculation so far, because it makes finding out in-game that much sweeter - especially with a relationship that (in my mind) is going to be like traversing a mine-field. While this probably means that I'm gonna end up with a HORRIFYING, HEART-BREAKING, SOUL-RENDING ending, that's okay ;---;

I'm glad that we did have him in Awakenings, but I have a feeling it's just going to be more heart-wrenching to compare who he was with what he is now... T____T

And NP! In a completely hypocritical fashion, I love seeing new tidbits of the game with Anders (which is why I'm glad there's so little out there, because I'd never have the willpower to keep from spoiling myself. *sob*)

I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing. It's possible that showing Anders in anything non-gameplay related is a bit too spoilery so I understand why they're keeping him under wraps. It's less than 2 weeks away until the game comes out so until then, fan speculation is what we'll have.

There's a little gremlin inside me that wants to know everything I can about Anders. However, I'm glad I dont. I think we already know enough about Anders now, since we've already had exposure to his character prior to DA2 through Awakening.

I also think the devs haven't come in here too often because our "theories" are mostly self-indulgent fanfiction, and we all know it. Thus, we don't need a dev to come in here and gently talk us down from our highs. Except with the cannibalism thing, but that just lends credence to what I'm saying. Generally, we're level-headed and have our squee under control.

That and we have a heavy helping of pessemism on the side, which we stare at darkly from time to time, and keeps us from spewing rainbows and hope-filled bubbles.

ALSO: Love that screenshot. EEE! Vengeance!Anders FTW! Except when he's eating people! Then it's bad! And stuff! MOAR EXCITEMENT.

They may just be busy with DLC, DA3, etc.  Writer participation in other fan threads has dropped off a bit also.

Just a bit of a fun Discovery news article that made me laugh, especially after the Ser Pounce a Lot spectacle.

Anyway, about Anders-related news:  I actually prefer the suspense of barely knowing anything at this point.  While it does open up the way for a lot of speculation (the good and bad kinds), it keeps me from feeling hyped one way or the other.  Assumptions can be made way too early and I don't like setting myself up for disappointment.  At this point, after waiting all the while to even get a confirmation that it was indeed Anders, is enough.

I believe any information about Anders could be spoiler ridden. There is a reason the devs chose to reveal him so late in the game, and I don't think its because he's from Awakenings. He seems like he maybe too deeply tied into the main plot.

I really do suspect the same HolyJellyfish. There have been so many cryptic remarks from DG and the other devs about him - "There's a reason we changed his voice actor" "Anders' past is spoilery" etc etc. He's the tie in between DA:O and DA2 (like Isabela, but MORE so since he actually accompanied the Warden for a long stretch) his story is deeply tied to the plot (if it's truly as involved in mage/chantry stuff). I really think they've been trying hard not to give anything away about him, which just makes me all the more interested in his storyline.

It's going to be a long wait between March 8 and March 11 for me. I'll be way too tempted to read spoilers about Anders and everything else. 

My exams are also starting next month. Yippee.

I noticed that as well. Maybe theres an ability where Justice can sort of... faze out of him? And then do some super awesome moves? If that is true then I will SQUUUUUUEEEE!! and most likely wake up my neighbours...

I can't tell if that's coming out of him, or if it's in the background. :| There's a slightly insubstantial demony form in front of m!Hawke also, so maybe a few demons are in mid-materialization?

I don't think the demon thing you're looking at is coming from Anders; I think it's just in the background.  it looks like there's something exciting going on behind the mages, lol.  The tank is doing its job, whoever it is.
