So, I'm playing Awakening again (never finished it the first time), and I got to where Anders objects to taking on the baroness because she might be too powerful. He sounds a little scared. (Not that I blame him.)



This and the conversations others have posted between him and Justice show an underlying... let's call it an overdeveloped sense of self-preservation. However, the fact that he merges with a spirit shows a great deal of character growth for him in that it's a courageous thing to do, especially for what we think are the reasons he's done it.



While I hope the snark is back, I hope the overdeveloped sense of self-preservation is gone for good.

Anders flirts with Mhairi AND Sigrun AND Velanna, but his sexiest/most awesome line is in a conversation with Nathaniel.



He also flirts with the female Warden three or four times even if she is married, so yeah. It's his thing.

He's incurable as a flirt. I love it. I CANNOT wait to see that little flirty icon in the dialogue wheel. It would have been nice to try it out in the demo (what, Isabela can ASK US TO JOIN HER IN BED, but we can't flirt with her first???).

I agree, but I'd like his previous worldview at least mentioned  Even if people playing haven't played Awakening, it makes sense to give some acknowledgement to how much he has changed.  Characters like Zevran and Thane changed right around the time of meeting them in their respective games, it would be odd to not have that for Anders.

Exactly.  I really do hope there's a line or two or a banter that expresses this.
Anders:  You know... the Darkspawn used to really bother me.

I wouldn't be surprised if part of Justice wanting to "merge" with Anders was part of him being selfish. He did mention that he needed to see the world through other eyes.

Well, he was starting to experience human emotion, and was starting to feel envious of Kristoff's memories. Maybe he thought he could experience this stuff and help Anders at the same time, thus negating the selfishness of the action?
