On one hand, as someone said in the M/M thread, the German demo where this proof was found was an old build -- those files mentioned may not be in the game at all, or  they may have added the Merrill and Fenris files later on.

On the other hand, if the only bi options are Isabela and Anders -- why not give it a chance?  You may not have liked Anders in Awakening, but he looks different, sounds different, and is in a very different place now, so his personality may be changed.  It's not the end of the world...and after the game is out, there will be s/s romance mods, almost definitely.

Personally, I don't mind Anders being bi at all, but I do wish that there had been some hints in Awakening, for the sake of consistency.  I don't think it's out of character from what we know about him, but it would have been nice to put that out there.

True, there are lines recorded for a s/s romance with both Kaidan and Ash in ME1. Only Shepard actually recorded the lines, I think. Kaidan still refers to you as a woman and only the love scene with FemShep And Ash does't have FemShep turning into a male like it has DudeShep turning into a woman. Neither were in the final game unless you hacked it. 
I'd be surprised if he was bi, but I wouldn't mind at all.

I very much doubt romancing him will be necessary to save him. It wasn't necessary to romance Alistair to make him king or to get him to do the ultimate sacrifice (although it was a bit of a wrench to have to leave him at the gates to stop him from ninja-ing YOUR ultimate sacrifice). Romances are optional, DG has said it over and over again. You can unlock ALL the necessary bits of a character's story without romancing them.



You just get extra tasty bits if you choose to.

BTW, I'm going through Origins and just saved Connor. Morrigan said that demon does not inhabit his body, it exists in the Fade and controls the boy through their bond. That's why we were able to kill the demon in the Fade and free Connor. I wonder how it is with Anders. I believe in his case the spirit does inhabit his body.

If I remember rightly, Irving says thats because Connor's demon forced itself on him. Anders takes Justice in of his free will.

Also - thanks for reading it (and to Bambii, Starflower2525 and ReallyRue), and also also I totally didn't mean it took all 10 years. I was thinking more like 2 I guess.

Yes, I think so too. If vengeance/justice was in the fade and not his body the situation would be easier to deal with.

@mandamcmoo, actually Irving said quite the oposite: saving Connor was possible because he agreed to let the demon in. Otherwise he would become an abomination with no way back.

I am okay with Anders being bi.  I won't ever romance him as a male, simply because I probably won't ever play a male Hawke.  That's why I hope they're all bi: so I can have a Lady Hawke romance Merrill!

However, Anders looks like he's going to be my dominant romance.  In every Bioware game I've played, there has always been one romance that I prefer to the others.  In Origins, 4 of my 5 Wardens romanced Alistair, and 1 for  Zevran just to try it out.  In ME, every single one of my FemSheps romanced Kaidan.  I plan on giving Fenris and Isabela a token romance, but I am predicting that I will have a VERY hard time resisting Anders even in replays.

Irving is wrong, btw. There was a case in "The Calling" when a mage was forced into an abomination by a demon, but when the demon was slain, the mage came back to normal. I don't think it was a plot hole.

So, I'm sure there is a way to get rid of Justice, but the problem is -- I don't want to do it.

I tend to prefer Dragon Age romances over Mass Effect ones. Accidently deleted my Zev and Leliana wardens when clearing out some unused saves.

Exactly!    I ended up really liking Zevran's romance, but I just love Alistair's more.  The ninja-kiss and the rose... so sweet.

I just started an elf mage in Origins to try and get me through this last week or so of waiting for DA2, and I'm torn who to romance.  I was thinking Zevran just try to and even things out (Ali has 4 of my Wardens, Zev only has 1) but Alistair is just so irresistable!

I have a strong suspicion that Anders will be that romance for me in DA2.  And I'm totally fine with that.

But Justice has been corrupted into Vengeance. Perhaps he is the undying terror. I suspect JV (as I shall hereby call him) will become more vengeful as the game progresses, perhaps based on your decisions, perhaps not, and that's why Anders has more trouble controlling him or dealing with it over time (as the good Ms H suggested, I believe). So by the end of the game, JV could be this grotesque version of his former self that refuses to leave Anders until Anders has gotten vengeance. If you grant Anders the opportunity to obtain vengeance, then JV leaves of his own free will. If you don't let Anders get vengeance, then JV digs his heels in, and you have to exorcise him some way, and one of those ways may involve killing Anders (a la the Connor situation). Or not.

I think there's a more detailed, spoilery description that refers to the name of a specific beast. There were threads about it a couple of weeks ago.

 I was thinking about starting a playthrough where I would romance zevran recently ( I too have to get through the week left of waiting ) but I remember trying this before and 'accidently' romancing alistair again...
he's just so...cute.

Ah, you beat me!  I was just about to post this!

We get to see Anders in action in this one.  He seems to still use Winter's Grasp and cold spells a lot, so he apprently intends to continue his tradition of freezing the PC solid at every opportunity.    In Awakening, I had such a hilarious love/hate relationship with him in battle.  I often found myself shrieking "DAMNIT ANDERS" as my PC became a popsicle.  Still love him, though.  

I think he does quite a bit of shouting in battle in the video.  I kept hearing a voice that didn't sound like Varric or Hawke (or Aveline).
