But this guy doesn't have that... quality to his voice that Ellis has. He sounds too young, too clear, too ordinary.

Interesting, very interesting. He seems to have played a lot of villains. Actors who play villains are always... intriguing.

Now if only there were a character who could be played by Alan Rickman.

I love Roxborough. He's got the "scruffy" down pat. But Wenham is up there too. And slightly younger.

ETA @ Aris have you listened to him in Leliana's Song? He's definitely less bubbly, more measured than Greg, but that could just be the fact that it's a more serious character. Greg probably would have sounded the same considering he's darker this time around.

I personally think the new voice is "sexier", but I absolutely adored Greg's voice for different reasons entirely.

I agree - but I do really want to hear more from him. I can't believe that there's no dialogue he's in that is unspoilery. There must be something they can give us, surely?

I'm actually really pleased we've got so little. I'm doing my utmost not to read any of the review threads. I'll look at gameplay footage, but I want the story to be a surprise.

I'm starting to withdraw in the next few days, to save myself from too much spoilerage. Also I have a dissertation due (before the game comes out, thank goodness), so I should... you know... write that.

Same here. Like I said it doesn't bother me if he's BI. It's not like I'm gonna play male Hawke or anything. From Lady Hawke's perspective she romance both Anders and Fenris regardless of their sexual orientation since they still like females. Although I do feel there's some issue with continuity, in the end it doesn't matter since we couldn't romance anybody in Awakening anyway~

I'm torn.  I don't want to be spoiled, but I also don't want to be taken by surprised like the whole Alistair-hardening thing... where there's a tricky dialogue option that if I miss it, Anders will die or abandon Hawke or something sad like that.  I'm going to be walking a fine line until March 8th: trying to avoid most spoilers but maybe hear about some of the large ones.

@mandamcmoo: I know what you mean.  I have some large exams between now and March 8th that I should probably start thinking about instead of awesome Dragon Age and sexy Anders.  Stupid grad school.

As for the bi thing... I couldn't care less on a "personal" basis if he ended up the bi option, or if they all were.  It'll make more people happy, which is always a good thing.  I really can't see anyone getting mad or feeling like it takes something away from them, which seems to be the prevailing anti-bi opinion, unless they have a smidge of homophobia going on.

From a lore/continuity perspective I really didn't get any impression of him swinging that way from Awakenings, but he did come across as someone who wouldn't turn down a bit of fun.  So I can see them doing it as someone who might prefer women but just likes sex and has no real problem with taking it where he can get it.

If he's the only bi option and that's how they play it I'd feel kind of bad for anyone that wants to RP a gay character, though.  Zevran made a point of telling a male warden he preferred a "shapely woman," and it seems kind of lame that for two games in a row the m/m audience gets someone who isn't even gay, or equal opportunity, but rather has a "better than nothing" attitude. I know the m/m Zevran romance was just as deep as the f/m one, but that one line always kind of struck me...

Same here. I always romanced Zevran as a guy, though - for some reason I thought it fit better. Obviously my fem!Hawke is going for Anders first up, but I'd be interested to see whether the interaction is any different with an m!Hawke.



And I'm so going to romance Merrill with a fem!Hawke if I get the chance.

and yes the impression I got from Zevran was that he preferred women. But then again that's what he told the female Warden, did he say the same thing to a male warden?

Yeah that's kind of messed up for him to say . I used to be on the fence on this issue, I preferred LI for female to be straight, and that there should be a LI to be gay for those who don't want to play BI. But now I really don't care as I see it doesn't take anything away from my experience romancing a LI that's BI. It makes it more romantic actually, that regardless of sex that person chose you.....it'd be a nice touch to add to a character and I have a feeling it will be Anders, in which case I'm still romancing the heck out of him~

I don't know. I would think they would avoid people comparing Fenris to Zevran, in which case they still do but that would make it even more so. Plus weren't some codes found in a German demo a clue? Not for sure but it seems to be leaning that way. I think the easiest thing would be to make everybody BI but I don't think that's realistic.....I'm a strong believer that sexual orientation is part of a character not just for the benefit of the player. Either way it wouldn't bother me~

There was a German article posted today that seemed to show that Fenris was indeed a bi option, and the same article also said "bisexual options have been increased," so take that as you will. The files that mentioned "Anders kiss_male" ... I wouldn't take that as concrete proof (see: Kaidan, Ashley, and Alistair who had similar file names at one point).

As for the whole *they're all bi* thing... Yes, I might consider it pandering to the fans, but on the other hand, did we really know all that much about Anders? I know we have his dialogue from Awakening and all that, but as far as I know, that was merely a scraping of the surface. Not a lot of character development to be had in Awakening *at all.* Mages in the tower tend to have relaxed moral values because, well, they're locked up in a tower and get *bored out of their minds.*  Sexual experimentation is bound to happen.   But I'm also a firm believer in orientation not being a choice, so... bang goes my theory!

I dunno. We'll definitely see soon, won't we?

I would 100% approve of this.  That way I could romance Merrill without having to play an icky boy.

I seem to be accumulating DA2 ships for some reason.  I am adamant about Carver + Merrill, and now I'm thinking that Sebastian + Isabela would also be cute.  No one really jumps out at me for Anders... I think he and Isabela could have a lovely time together (nudge nudge, wink wink) but I don't see them as a true couple.

I ship Carver and Merrill - there's something just right about that! Bethany can have Anders for my non-mage straight m!Hawke playthrough. I see Anders as being a mage man. I don't know why. But he does flirt far more outrageously with Velanna than Sigrun.

was watching "The Hangover" on TV...and all the time the movie was playing on i could not stop thinking that Bradley Cooper looks sooo much like Anders with that cute jaw line and stuble, heck, even the nose >.> :x....anyhow..it may be just me but i had to tell someone about it
