I had him for around 28-ish in Awakening, just for his general attitude and looks. If he was taken to the Tower at 12, that would average an escape attempt every two or so years, minus the year he spent in solitary. I do wonder about his longest period on the run, apart from the one resulting in him becoming a Warden. How long did he evade capture, and what did he do in the meantime?

Finn in Witch Hunt said that first attempt when he swam across the lake only lasted a week. So he probably would have managed to get to Redcliffe and have a night of fun before the Templars caught up with him

I love that comic someone posted about that escape, with the campy templar.

"It is the Maker who creates mages. The Chantry was built by men, and it can be brought down by them."
Anders, the light-hearted rebel mage from Dragon Age: Origins, Awakening,
has changed. Urged by his friend Justice to fight the Circle of Magi
more actively, Anders agreed to become Justice's human host… only to
find that his anger at the Circle warped Justice into the demonic spirit
of Vengeance. Now Anders must struggle mentally and physically to
maintain his control over the demon within... at least long enough to
see the Circle of Magi overturned forever.
Does that mean he is no more witty and light hearted in his conversations?

In the demo you can use the console to get Anders as a party member.

Using console commands, yes. Not normally.

also, the super spoiler topic at the top of the forum is taunting me. I clicked long enough to see a Carver spoiler and had to close the window. I want to know so bad, but I want it all to be a surprise!

The subtext for a companion quest was "Go speak to Anders at his clinic in Darktown." D'aww, a clinic! That sounds so... official. And clinical. It reminds me of Mordin Solus.

Yeah, there's nothing major about Anders over there. Just some quests related to him talking to other companions/getting to know them. Other than that, no need to worry.
