ARGH!  I finally gave in and I'm watching the whole Anders part of the 1-Up video.  But these guys won't shut up in the background, and I can't read the subtitles!  Has anyone managed to make a transcript of the dialogue they want to PM me (since it might be too spoiler-y to post here)?

And they all lived happily ever after- in an unconventional sort of way.

It's like inviting your grandpa to come live with you. But instead of living in your house he's living in your body. All the time.

...I...don't like where I went with that.

Is anybody else a bit disconcerted by the fact that Ye Olde Anders would have taken Hawke's flirt line much differently? I feel like the Anders from Awakening would have shot back with something snarky and equally flirtatious.

I suppose the circumstances were strange and might explain why he was so bashful, but it just seemed completely out of character from what we've seen of him. I guess I should just prepare myself now to see a totally different character in Dragon Age 2. :(

I noticed that too, his spirit is  a little crushed.  Hope we'll be able to get it back.

Well he did just kill his friend and have a bit of a breakdown/freak out...maybe he's just tired?

I'm hoping it's an emotional state more than anything, since we were promised Teh Snark ™ would return.

I sincerely hope he isn't a completely morose characters now, since his sense of humor was what always made him an attractive character.

I'm... not sure I like where you went with that either. But I reject your logic and substitute that of a Justice fangirl! Vengeance. Justice-And... screw it, I'm calling him Justers.

It's probably a combination of things. His emotional state at that moment, and his reasons for coming to Kirkwall, as well as what he's been living with for probably a few months at this time probably have left him drained with very little to feel happy about.

It's alomst worth it when you think that Hawke's terrible flirting could have been the highlight of ANder's whole month.

...Curses. Now I'm going to have to try that line on him once. Posted Image

That's a really adorable idea.

My only problem with the reasoning is that things are pretty bloody dire when you find him in Awakening too - the darkspawn are invading the Keep and he only just escaped the templars.  Even then, he's got time for a quip.  I can see why he would react the way he does in DA2, I just hope we see a bit of the old Anders once he's had time to readjust.

Anyone else find it odd that Ander's friend Carl seemed to slip out of his Tranquility?? What was that about and how did it happen? Felt like I was reading fanfiction..

Slight spoiler from the posted vid

The Tranquil mark cuts them off from the Fade (which is what strips them of their emotions; it's a side effect), but when Anders went all Vengeance on the Templers he ‘brought a part of the fade’ into the waking world and that connected Karl to the fade again... so he regained his emotions for that short moment. The explination is right there in the video.

My logic claims Bioware created the entity of Justers because I apparently did something really nice while they were developing the game. (Clearly, the world revolves around me.)

All joking aside, I am hoping to see the sarcastic bastard we remember from Awakening.

I think it's alright, considering the context. Anders is probably thinking: "Hell, I've just told her things that would make normal people run away screaming, and she thinks it's sexy. What a perv! " I don't think he took it seriously. Besides, I'm sure he was not in the mood to flirt after the spoiler events. I think I won't let him do that spoiler thing, because he's a healer, he should not do things like that :( Poor dear, I'm sending all hugs and kittens to Anders.

The more I hear about Anders, the more I love him. I've been drawing him so much lately (even though I really should be working on other things *cough*).
Speaking of drawing-

... I- this wasn't even supposed to be colored, all I did was open it up in PS to fix the lighting after it scanned in funny, and then the next thing I know I'm coloring it in. And I hate coloring.

Anders: I know I told you I like cats...
Hawke: Isn't this one cute?  I call him Snuffle-Muffins.
Anders: That's great, he's adorable.  The first cat was nice, the second one was also nice...
Hawke:  Ooh, Snuffle-Muffins, you will love your new home!
Anders: That's the thing.  You have given me 47 cats.  I can't take anymore.
Hawke: :crying:  But I was just trying to--
Anders: I stopped giving you friendship points 42 cats ago.
Hawke: Oh.  Well, nevermind then.

I like to think that her comment didn't really sink in until later.  He's in bed that night and suddenly goes "... Maker.  That woman must be a completely insane pervert.  That's kind of hot."

Awww, I love his story about Ser Pounce-A-Lot!
We totally need that DLC Threeparts wrote earlier, where Pounce goes to Kirkwall to unite with his human friend.
Also, new Anders looks so cute with puppy eyes!
And I like the *flirt*. It was so awful, that my Hawke will definitely say it XD At least Anders smiled.

Yes, please. So sad when I read that! :crying: Now we know for sure: Our Wardens were not in charge when he left. Not in a thousand hells.
