I'm still all scared about this. I can't believe they wouldn't put a way for it to end semi-happily for Anders, even if it is a compromise happy like the mistress ending for the Alistair romance. But I am not sure if it can.

In any case I'll be doing my damndest to save them both.

I feel like I care far more than I should. Anders just appealed to me ridiculous amounts in Awakening, and I'm going to be rather put out if he can't have something like a happy ending. Because I am still mentally thirteen and secretly hope that everything be sunshine and rainbows.

Loved, loved, loved Awakening Anders.
But I will keep my expectations in check and my squees to a minimum - he is not the Anders we remember. And he isn't written by David Gaider this time around.

Jennifer Hepler wrote Orzammar in the first game, as well as the dwarven commoner origin and Branka and Hespith, and those were some of my favorite parts of DA:O.  I'm not sure if she is sustained on the tears of fangirls, so there's no telling if we'll be stuck with a choice of Tragic or Terribly Tragic for a conclusion to Anders' story, but I'm sure his story will be interesting.

Now that's promising. These were really good parts in DA:O

TeenZombie: Absolutely, Jennifer's writing in DA:O was gritty, dark and original and I am looking forward to some kick-in-the-gut/NOOOOO! moments. But what can I say, when it comes to characters, I'm a David Gaider fangirl.

She's also (Hepler that is) done lots of mage work. It'll be really interesting to see how much of Gaider's snark comes through and how it's tempered by Justice/Vengeance's and Hepler's influence. OMG CANNOT WAIT CANNOT WAIT...

I haven't read all the pages but I see a lot of people asking what happens if anders is killed, a more interesting question for me is what happens if anders survives awakening but you killed justice outright, thereby ensuring anders isn't ever possessed, would this mean that anders would appear in DA2 as his normal self?

That's an interesting point. They said that they would happily retcon epilogues to bring old characters, like Anders, back, but I have a playthrough where my evil Warden killed Justice. I wonder if they'll still bring him back. Unless Justice himself doesn't play a huge part - in terms of his individual identity - and another spirit of Justice is within Anders instead.
I doubt they'd have a spirit-free Anders, it seems as though it would complicate his storyline/dialogue/personality.

Justice is a spirit, so no matter what you can't just kill him - he'll pop up in some other form. I imagine there's probably a dialogue clarification on Anders' part if that's what you did. Something along the lines of "I was wondering around Amaranthine one day and this spirit of Justice popped up..."

Or perhaps Pounce has something to do with it. That is one pretty damn special cat.

Justice eventually dies in all epilogues no matter what you do, and all of them mentions that nobody knows whether he really disappeared or just went back to the fade. In fact, if he hadn't died, he would have no reason to inhabit Ander's body since he could keep using Kristoff's.

hey do you think MageHawke and Anders can discuss the joys of apostate life?

Y'know being apostates, and running from the Chantry, and stuff like that?

Yes. Or maybe Bethany and Anders can hook up at some point?

Oh the potential...

Yet another reason for my FemHawke being a mage, Bethany can't c*** block if she's dead :3.

I wonder how Vengeance will work. Is Anders going to be like Bruce Banner with Vengeance being his version of The Hulk, or is Vengeance going to pop up to speak his mind every now and then?

Hearing that Jen is writing him puts me slightly at ease, although I would have preferred Gaider. She did a good job in the first game and I'm eager to see her take on the new and not-so improved Anders. :)

Seeing the story heavily revolves around mages, this is no surprise. Anders, however, is not a character I care too much for though.

It is called friendship. I care of you and you care of me. But of course that is not cool in Internet. Cool kids in Internet doesn't have friends, so, you have to make up some pride of it.

I wouldn't doubt it. Justice and Anders never seemed to be all that close, but at the end of the day they were both still comrades that entrusted their lives to one another on the battlefield. The fact that he was the one to corrupt Justice probably weighs heavily on his mind.

Guilty? Can you blame Anders of what happened? I can only think Anders could feel guilty for letting Justice posses him. He should had known better.

It seems to me that Justice convinced Anders to be possessed. Anders could feel bad for what Justice becomes, but it isn't his fault.

I honestly think that's going to be a huge part of the plot. I mean, we know from the Connor situation that there's a way to get rid of demonic possession - but it involves killing or making a deal with the demon. Anders, being ex-circle, must be aware there's a way to go into the fade and rid himself of Vengeance, but the fact that he's choosing not to means one of two things - the first, that I don't like (for obvious reasons) is that Vengeance is the only thing keeping him alive. The second, which I like better (also for obvious reasons!) is that Anders wants Justice back the way he was and thinks there's a way for him to make that happen - he feels guilty that his anger has corrupted the spirit.

Really, from their conversations in Awakening I'm leading towards the second reason. I only hope that it's correct and we can help them both.

in order to kill a demon someone need lots of lyrium or blood magic and I think someone other than the one who's possesed must go into the fade and needs to be a mage maybe thats why Anders hasn't done it or maybe he's to lazy
