OMG, Karl. I won't let Anders _____ him just to get more rivalry. And I'll force him to see his old friend more often, yeah. And will make my Hawke a blood mage and Carver a templar. I'll be a rivalry queen!
But seriously, his elven ex-girlfriend from Awakening was awful, his ex-boyfriend is disastrous. Do you think our Hawkes will have better chances with Anders if they will be UGLY?
I have a theory. He likes to be with ugly people because it makes him look even more handsome next to them.

I think it's the beard. It makes him look.....old. Personally, he looks decent, just not with that beard. To be honest,  Anders probably doesn't care too much about a person's appearance since he's been confirmed to be a largely emotional LI. Knowing that they were romantically involved really makes their scenes together all that much more depressing though.
