Now THAT is something that might put my FemHawke off from romancing him.  Demon possession she can deal with, but the smell of cat pee from 120 cats... that might be a bit much.

But don't worry, Ser Pounce-a-Lot would never want to share his spoiled-rotten status with lots of other cats; I'm sure he's the only cat (or one of the few cats) in Ander's life.

Now I think it's fate for Anders to be an LI.  I've been planning on naming my Hawke "Kitty" ever since it was first announced.  How could Anders turn her down?

The point is, not a walking corpse. The closest equivalent seems to be Venom or the Hulk. Everything about him screams LI. He'll likely be the LI exclusive to FemHawke.

Why would it stop that? Peeps are requiring too much of their partners xD My warden could take a role to guard Wynne to not go out of control in the end of DA if Wynne would be always willing to "help release some pressure and enjoy of close proximity". If the spirit would posses her while doing it I would just say "Hmm, you want too? Ok, here we go then."

I can't help but think Anders is a shoe-in for LI status.  ::knocks on wood:: He's the only human, for one (not counting poor Sebastian, since he's probably out due to his DLC status) and I think if Isabela and Merrill are LIs, they will follow the same "1 human, 1 non-human" thing.

Varric sadly might be the odd man out.  I know he has a huge fanbase here on the forums, but I don't know if he'd be considered a "marketable" romance to everyone else (and the devs are quick to remind us that we forumites are the minority of people who play the game).  And Fenris was basically forged in the fires of Mount Doom to attract fangirls.

They also mentioned non-party LIs being available, so I could see using something like Fenris and Varric, and then a human non-party LI or two.  But Varric being the narrator could very well make it impossible for him to be a permanent love interest (I'll take a go if I can get it though, even if it is just for fun!).  And yeah, Fenris being mysterious, having an unknown past, being somewhat untamed and having that fear of touch to get past?  Total fan love material for either gender.

If Anders being in control is like traveling with Wynne, perhaps to have a permanent love with him you have to help him through his issues and bring Justice back from Vengence - if you choose instead to let Vengence take over and he becomes a full Abomination, then perhaps you can keep him as a party member but cannot romance him any longer.  Adds an interesting caveat to the whole thing - you can keep the person you love with whatever comes with him, or you can sacrifice him and gain a powerful demon at your side, one more powerful than Justice just aiding Anders.

This times two to the eleventh power! As much as I loved watching Gambit and Rogue's romance unfurl, I was constantly wishing he would play for my team... or both teams, in the very least.

As for Anders, I have no doubt that he's an LI. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that he's a M/M LI... Here's to hoping!

Well, he was willing at first, but I'm guessing not so much anymore. The description does say he's fighting to maintain control, so I would consider it possession.

Sure.  Possession is a spirit in another's body, regardless of the intent. And in Anders' case, it's like you invited over a dear friend to stay in your house for a week while she looks for a new place, and then it turns out that she's moving in long-term, and so are her three teenage kids, two dogs and the parrot that spends all day imitating the squeaky washing machine, and now you've got dirty socks all over the living room floor, the spare room smells like teenage boy and her ex comes around every Saturday at 3am drunkenly declaring his love for her.
A little more than you bargained for, and now you're stuck.

Yeah, this is what I'm guessing. I was all for the idea of romancing Anders/Justice, but I'm more than a little ticked off about what happened to Justice. I realize it wasn't intentional, but my second favorite Awakening character screwed over my first favorite. Not happy.

Not your job either. DA: the land of grey and grey morality. I don't think we'll ever see a situation that is 100% objectively "good" or "bad."

@Calla I wouldn't be surprised if there's a quest to return Justice to himself. And Anders agreed to become his host, he didn't "screw Justice over". Neither of them could have known what would happen.
