I am probably going to take that inappropriate flirt line, and just roleplay it in my head as an "Oh Maker did I just say that out LOUD?" moment. I'll imagine Hawke turning 3 shades of red as the camera turns back to Anders reaction, which is probably why he takes it in stride.

Because I don't think I have the willpower to turn down flirting with Anders. I don't know how long I might have to wait to get another chance, lol.

I've been wondering the second one myself. That line just doesn't work, at least not for my first playthrough.

For #1, I think Anders will mention his male lover with either Hawke, mostly because he's the 'canon' bisexual.
For #2, the inappropriate flirting is awkward as hell, I agree lol. I believe you can avoid it by not choosing it. There are probably more (appropriate) chances of doing so.
Not sure about #3 yet, heh.

I'll be playing my first Hawke as a motormouth who starts off really awkward and has to grow into her Champion role after a few knockbacks. Awkward characters are fun, inappropriate comments and all.

I'd like to think there won't be a dominant role in the romance, what with both of them being very much willful characters. I suppose it very much depends whether it's Friendmance or rivalmance.

@fantasypisces, I don't know if anyone got back to you, but it's not so much the line as the situation in which Hawke says it. I would hate to PM it to you and spoil something that you maybe didn't want to know.

Alright I got a few PMs, and yeah, that does seem awkward lol.
I might go for it, and do what someone else says, just pretend that after my Hawke spouts that line he will be blushing from head to toe.

Personally I don't want to sacrifice my character's rp concept that much, so I'm going to go ahead and skip it, and hope for a better opportunity later. Although I do think that the whole "oops *blush*" idea is a rather clever way to justify it

Definitely going for a rivalmance here. Conflict always makes things so much more interesting So glad they have implemented this!

What I'm wondering is whether or not you get a "happier" ending with a Friendship Romance or a Rivalry Romance. (Assuming both are available.) I know it's meta-gaming, but I kind of would hate making it a point to be friends with the guy, only to find out later that if we were rivals, it would have turned out better for the both of us.

I've kind of figured so far that how well a rival or friendship path works out in the long run would depend on the character in question. Like say Aveline might be more sensible on her own than Anders when befriended,
and that a rival PC would do Anders good by being there to snap him out of his more destructive ideas.

No idea if it actually works that way tho

Just a hunch but I kind of get the feeling Anders might need someone to be there to give him perspective, especially with the Vengeance situation. So my first instinct for a happy ending with him would prolly be on a rivalmance.

The light-hearted commentery he gives is also very nice.

I like to think that the scarf-like thing he wears in DA2 is actually the Knitted Scarf the player can gift him with in Awakening :happy:
