It doesn't look like it in the screenshot on the character page, unfortunately. Jowan wasn't greying or in possession of a beard.

In other news - anyone else spotted the fact that in the second screenshot of the refugee healing the guy standing behind him is the same guy standing BESIDE him? I know the "lady in purple" has been getting some hatred, but this seems a little ridiculous.<_<

Well if his friend became a Tranquil, he must have been a maleficar or one that escaped a lot, like Anders. But Anders never talked about such a friend...

Couldn't Jowan have died in DA:O?

In Origin you have the optioned to released him and let him go instead of handed him back to the Tower...arh....it suddenly occured to me when I read the official text again it could be Jowan who finally got caught....

jowan could be killed as soon you talk to him while he's in the cell.

You can kill Jowan in his cage or ask Eamon to have him executed. So unless he...survived somehow, came back from the dead, or they're going to do a retcon, I don't see him coming back as that.

But wouldn't it be weird for all the Origins characters to set out to Kirkwall? We already have 4 characters returning (without Sandal and his daddy). Maybe he is just a guy he met and befriended on the way...

It's reasonable to suppose that the mage with the lyrium brand behind him in the pic with the glowy eyes is his friend. It looks nothing like Jowan.

@Tank, I take it the guy behind Anders in that hot-demon-eyes screenshot is the tranquil in question and he doesn't look like Jowan.

@mandamcmoo, maybe they are simply dressed alike?

@nightcobra8928, and Anders should have stayed in Vigil after the Awakenings. I no longer trusted BW on that aspect. If they want to weave Jowan into the story, they always can come up with something.

The guy has a circle on his forhead i think...does that mean something?

Why do you thing that the mage behind him in that pic is his friend? We have no proof about it. To be honest, it has the same robes that the First Enchanter has.

edit: I see now the sign on his head. Though I'm not sure that this man is his friend

Yeah, I noticed it now. Perhaps they are twins...yyyyeeeaaah.
I do hope that it won't be as apparent in game. Hope that the scene at hand will draw my attention more than duplicates.

And again, it depends on your choices in Awakenings. It seems like they may have to be aloof as to how Anders ended up to the point he is in the game. At the end of Awakenings he could end up staying with the Wardens for the rest of his days, or going off on his own. My take is that he was hearing the call of the deep roads and rather than become a ghoul or die fighting dark spawn he let Justice enter his body. But again, in awakenings body Justice possessed could end up with his head chopped off, or years later his spirit leaving the body he possessed. Gonna be interesting to see how they pull it off.

I didn't mean the info about Jowan, I mean the mage that Anders tried to help escape. Where did that bit of info come from? I should have quoted the part I was originally asking about, I didn't expect there to be that many replies in between my post and the post I was referring to. Which I can't find, now.

I saw that now. It could be that he has this sign because it has been made tranquil now (the others tranquil we met don't have this sign), but I'm not completely sure. He has the same robes of the First Enchanter. But as now it could be a possibility, or even very likely as you said.
