Don't really like anders, or anyone else in awakening really. Don't know why they have brought him back, or the obsession with him. Much prefer the characters in origins. I was really looking forward to the sequel, and i still have it pre-ordered but I fear I'm not going to enjoy it as much as I thought I was going to.
You probably have the option of never meeting him, like Fenris and Isabela.

With six companions total being listed in Cassandra's book and some characters supposedly not being available for selection every now and then that'd be cutting it pretty close to situation where the player doesn't have full group.Herr Uhl wrote...

I dont know why, but i just find all the characters at the moment a little poor effort and unintresting. Im hoping to be proved wrong and that ill get into it as much as DAO but at the moment i feel skeptical.

Most definitely. Don't get me wrong, I'll still bring him along everywhere regardless of whether or not he's an LI, but it will feel like such a missed opportunity. And if Anders isn't an LI, then I have to pin all of my hopes back onto the long shot: Sebastian.RinjiRenee wrote...
Haha... believe me, if Anders is not romanceable, I'll be about as disappointed as you are... One of us will undoubtedly be greatly disappointed.
While I am happy with Isabela and would be happy with Varric, I'll be genuinely bummed if Anders isn't a LI. I've been starry-eyed over him since his character trailer in Awakening and this whole Justice/Vengeance thing hits me where I hurt and love.
That being said, I am so excited by the possibilities presented by DA2. Most of all, despite being a David Gaider fangirl, I am most excited about Jennifer writing Anders. I loved the DC origin and the non combat parts of Orzammar/Deep Roads are my favorite part of DAO, so my expectations for his character and his role in the game are pretty high. His not being a love interest wouldn't diminish that at all.

You have at least three that you have to meet. Varric seeks you out and you meet sibling and Aveline while escaping.tmp7704 wrote...

(edited because on second thought the sibling is actually listed, now that i think of it? Can't remember)

Not sure, they could be permanent. That would bring you under the Morrigan/Alistair/Oghren bar. Even if you have to meet Wynne and Zevran, but you have to actively recruit them.tmp7704 wrote...
Yes, but the sibling isn't listed in the companion roster which makes one wonder just for how long they're available as companion vs turning into a redshirt/plot point. Plus the issue of not all companions being available at all times, which potentially reduces these three to smaller number.Herr Uhl wrote...

*shrugs* We'll see I guess. I think that most will be met at year one, when you have to raise money to pay your debts to mercenaries (As Varric says in the transition around 3 minutes in here).

No offense Anders, but I found Justice cooler than you.

I luve cats *meow*.
Never played DA:A but read a bit of Anders. Hmm, just like Conner / Desire Demon; Anders allowed Justice in so he's not outwardly corrupted.
Do you think a mage Hawke can get Justice transferred into himself / herself?

I hadn't considered that. It seems unlikely though, if possible. I think some kind of purification ritual is probably more likely. Either to return Vengeance to his previous state or to enter the Fade via Anders and fight him directly (ala Connor).

I am even more thrilled that we are meeting a darker side him.. I like that

I was thinking, I wonder if Anders will have some interesting party banter with Fenris. I remember a conversation with Anders in Awakening, where he says that the Tevinter Imperium has a better system when it comes to mages. If he still feels that way in DA2, I can't see him and Fenris becoming besties anytime soon.
I feel the urge to replay Awakening and drag Anders and Justice around with me, listening to their conversations and looking for all the foreshadowing.

I remember Justice asking Anders about the circle, but I wouldn't have imagined that the two would "join forces" like this.

This makes me SO SO SO HAPPY! If he is voiced by Greg Ellis again, i will take Anders all over the place with me! <3

And will it be the same voice actor? It sure sounds like Anders in the trailer.
