I was thinking pretty much the same thing. I think my Warrior!Hawke is going to take up an interest in healing refugees, despite have no skills. Maybe she can offer to move boxes or, you know, hold his staff for him.

My mind just went to a bad place and you are to blame, SurelyForth.

I wonder why Anders decides to leave this refuge place he seems keen on protecting just to follow after Hawke? .. Then again, Anders never liked staying in one place for too long so I guess it makes sense.

Y'know, it just dawned on me this morning that Anders is still a Grey Warden. I was and still am ashamed of how long it took me to realize this, even as I was playing Awakening. So if there were to be Hawke babies, Ander babies would be out of the question very difficult. Sorry for pointing out the obvious.

For my party configuration: it was going to be Fenris, Basti, and Varric. Now that Anders is here, someone is going to get the pointed metal boot of Lady Hawke from the group.....most likely Basti.

It's already been confirmed by devs that there won't be baby-making (of the literal sort) in DA2.

Also, way back in the day devs commented that Grey Wardens could theoretically conceive, it would just involve a lot of dark magic. /The More You Know Rainbow

But why stop and create a semi-permanent place to stay if you're that desperate to find your friend? Is it because he couldn't get into Kirkwall because of the Chantry? That would make sense, I suppose. Once he finds out Hawke can get past the templars and into Kirkwall he joins up.

@Margaret_TheElf: Not necessarily. Hawke isn't a warden, and Alistair plans to have kids. I don't really see Anders as the fatherly type, though.

Actually, Anders babies are not out of the question.  Grey Wardens can have kids (The Calling) it's just really, really difficult.

Re: babies... I'm not too keen on that, personally. Our characters often lead pretty violent lives, and I think it takes a particular kind of person to come out of that even remotely well-adjusted. I can't see any versions of my Hawkes wanting kids after what they would have been through from Lothering onwards. It's a nice thought that you're making the world better for your children, but there would always be that one terrible night when mummy or daddy isn't ever going to come home again.

Quite possibly! Which is why I would have no problem with giving him an opening like that.
