As I mentioned in the now closed thread (and will repost here) I don't mind the epilogue slide handwaving - I've become used to it with DA by now.

I was just curious whether it would be acknowledged in any way, or completely ignored.  Suppose it won't matter either way.

And since I did like Anders, I'm glad he'll be permanent.  I was having Mhairi flashbacks briefly.

Speaking as a person who has never played Awakening and who knows nothing of Anders besides the fact that he didn't do it, I am rather excited about him because he's a male healer. How often does that happen in an RPG? 

I love the male healer thing, it's such a relief after the "casters and healers are for grrrrrls" stereotype, just as I'm glad we're getting Aveline in a tank role. The mental image of him in a white doctor's coat doesn't hurt either.

or recovering from an illness.

Or dealing with a really bad hangover.

I think he looked good. They are changing the style, so it's expected for him to look a little different. I think it might have simply been the low-res settings, since I think he looks -much- better and more like himself in the glowy eyes and trailer team screencaps.



Oh, that's another indicator that he's a permanent companion: his likeness is in the book with everyone else. :3

He did look a bit haggard to me, too. Possibly working himself too hard? Illnesses would be absolutely rife in a refugee camp, and I can't imagine the Templars letting Kirkwall's mages loose out there. Anders has apparently been studying spirit healing since he was an apprentice (going by the book in the library during WH), so he might the one everyone comes running to for the slightest case of the sniffles.

Definitely!  We need MOAR ANDERS in this thread!

Am I the only one who prefers his DA2 model to DA:O?  I think it's an improvement while still keeping the best things about him intact.

@leggywillow: I like the way they've changed his face, and I hope they keep the brown eyes. I was fond of his nose in Awakening, but I've yet to see it properly in DA2.

I like them both, actually. I was afraid with the new art direction that he'd look totally unrecognizable (not seriously scared, mind you, just a tad apprehensive), but I agree with your assessment; they kept the best things about him and made improvements.

@LeggyWillow They've de-Alistairised him, that's how I see it. Which is a good thing IMO. Which probably means his nose won't be quite the same, seeing as that was the same model as Alistair's in DA:O. I'll wait to see how he looks on my super-duper computer before I pass judgement, however.

I prefer the DA2 model for several reasons, chief amongst them that it always irritated me how it looked like his head was just pasted on top of a solid column there with his collar....

Hmmm, it's such a hard decision. Think I like both, though his face is so much more expressive in DAO2 Yay tech advances!
