@Page Tee hee. Really, there is SOO much good Anders art and SO MANY good Anders screenshots from Awakening. We really must put more of them in this thread.

RedPawFigurines on Deviant Art did a gorgeous Anders Chibi which is always good when you are (like me) feeling a little down:

I think I "Awwww'ed" so hard and so high-pitched when I saw that that I may have shattered several window's in my mother's office . . .

Soooooo cute!

...We're not going to go the Alistair Gush thread route and just start spamming images, are we? Really? Because people can hardly walk into that thread.

In any case. Am I the only one who thinks Justice brings Anders back to life if he died at the end of Awakening? A lot of people seem to think it will just be ignored as if it never happened, but this seems like the clear solution. The same way the Spirit of Faith saved Wynne, Justice will save Anders.

To be fair, images have only been posted sparingly in here up until this very moment. It's not like it's 24/7 image posting.

Some have also theorized that Anders is dead. Personally, I'm hoping it's not true, both because I want him to be alive and because.. well, we did that already with Wynne.

I think that's a very plausible option, and that's probably how Bioware will handwave the situation in that case.

It might be a problem, however, for people who had Anders die in the epilogue but Justice hung around for a while.  For Justice to keep Anders alive, it probably would have had to be close to instantaneous, yes?

I thought about this too, like it wasn't really a total choice for Anders. It was live or die. I Have a hard time wrapping my head around Anders allowing a spirit to enter his body otherwise, knowing full well the possible reprucussions and connection that spirits & demons have with mages.

I actually wonder if it will be changed depending on -what- ending you get, too.  My Anders epilogue stated he didn't die and ended up leaving the Wardens...only to come back because he couldn't stand being away too long.  Perhaps in that situation he ended up becoming host to Justice who was a good friend?  *Shrugs.*

Edit:  Also for me,  Justice's stated he stuck around until Kristoff's wife became too unsettled by him, then left the body and hasn't been heard of since... that may work together well, actually.

Yeah, I'd assumed that as well. I mean, I suppose it's possible it'll be "unexplained," but with a pretty much ready-made explanation as to how he can die and yet not die, I'd just sort of thought it was a given, too.

Unless of course he didn't actually die in your game. I guess that may alter the outcome slightly, as Neurotoxin was hypothesizing.

I'm hoping that becoming Justice's host cleared out the Grey Warden taint from him. As stated before I don't want Anders going off at age 40 somethin' to go die in the Deep Roads. My Hawkette and him have a life to live! xP

I also have a feeling that in one of his quests, you'll have to pick between Justice(Vengeance) and Anders

Heck, even forgetting a sad ending for a possible romance, it'd just be totally unfair. He tries to escape the Circle his whole life, only to be conscripted into the Grey Wardens and basically given a life sentence. Then he tries to leave the Wardens, and the Templars are after him again. Then he tries to fight the Templars, and he becomes possessed. If it ends with him being freed from the possession only to succumb to the taint... The poor guy can't catch a break.

Hawke: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF! I knew I should've gone with Fenris -_-

He'd be like the Sirius Black of Dragon Age.

To be fair, they feed on our tears, so you never know. That actually MIGHT be his life story.

Pssh, lyrium drives people mad. Ten years down the track Fenris will be gibbering and drooling in a corner, while Anders still only has bad dreams. ^_^ Besides, Hawke could always decide to join the Wardens him or herself, unless the end of DA2 precludes that.

ETA: I should add that the Hawke that will probably end up with Anders, my rogue (no guarantees, I'm more interested in playing her true to character than manipulating LIs into being with her), would be the type to talk him into heading off to explore the rest of Thedas, instead of sitting on their butts in Kirkwall waiting for something interesting to happen. "Let's elope to Rivain!"

There will be no tears, just bitter disappointment. Poor Anders. He can't even enjoy this decade reprieve between horrible fates because he's possessed by a demon. Talk about being a woobie.

Why does everyone say he makes the romances so miserable? He really doesn't. I can think of only one romance in all of BioWare history that always ends in tragedy, and that's Aribeth's. Otherwise, you can get pretty happy endings out of all of them. Yeah, you have to earn it, but they're still there.

I mean, I'm not issuing a challenge to Gaider. So...no getting ideas. Whoever might be reading this.

I think we're all just trying not to get our hopes up, that way if if there IS some sort of horrible, tear-inducing ending we won't be surprised and dismayed when it comes.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst, all that sort of thing. ^_^ You know, just in case.

Alistair's was pretty miserable. He dies, you die, or the 'happy' ending where you bring a demon baby into the world by having him have sex with Morrigan, and then get to have a few decades before you have to go die in the Deep Roads.

Really? Even Morrigan's romance? She ends up leaving you no matter what.

(note that I haven't played Witch Hunt yet however, so I'm not entirely sure about whether things can end up being happy for a Warden who romanced her or not)

I was more than happy to share Alistair with Morrigan. Mostly because I knew both of them would HATE it. I was also happy to provide them alcohol and offered to join if Morrigan felt uncomfortable. Unfortunately, she wasn't BI, so...

... anyways, I'd be more than pleased if Anders was tragic. Bring on the tears. I like having sad heartbreaking tears. Provided the death is onscreen, and none of that ominous "Oh btw I gonna die in the one year it takes to make a sequel LOLZ! HIGH FIVE THANE!" *high five*
