Unless the game tells me otherwise, I will choose to believe that Anders left the Grey Wardens because he was heartbroken over the fact that he and my Amell could not be together. 

I'm guessing he left because he could. And why wouldn't he? He wanted to be free, and as a Warden he has some autonomy to do what he wants. Or maybe the Warden-Commander, sensing he was getting cabin fever, sent him to Kirkwall when s/he heard that so many Fereldan refugees had ended up there.

If he's not a LI, I'm tempted to not import my canon Warden at all and pretend that, in that universe, he stayed in Ferelden or they went to Kirkwall together. I think she'd be so depressed if she knew he went away and ended up vengeful and unloved. [/weirdness]

Seeing the screenshot of Fenris with Marian Hawke makes me hopeful about Anders' chances of being the m/m option (if he's romanceable, anyway). I know he was more affectionate with the ladies in Awakening, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's exclusively straight. He could have some attraction for men that he's not expressing and although I may just be seeing things that aren't there, I was getting a flirtatious vibe from some of his banter with Nathaniel. Maybe he's a bisexual guy with a little more preference towards women.

Or are they pulling another Alistair? I heard some people didn't know about romancing Alistair until the forums disclosed it or played the game?

@panamakira: That is entirely possible. It wouldn't surprise me if we didn't know about Anders until the game came out, but I hate playing the waiting game.

Oh well; I'm happy to at least know about Fenris

Same! At least one of the hotties got confirmed but I really want to romance Anders since Awakenings.....I'm going to say that Anders will be an option, just a much more difficult one. I don't know if that's possible as Fenris' background is as dark too but maybe we have to help Anders through the mess he's in and then maybe we'll get the option if we play it right? That would be really rewarding romance......^___^

In my Awakening ending Anders leaves for a while but then comes back stays with the wardens.
