Actaully it sounds as if Anders regrets turning Justice into Vengeance. I mean I know I'd feel bad if my own anger and rage at the injustice present in humanity turned a nobel and compassionate being into a monster.

Poor Justice was unprepared to deal with dangers of the human mind and emotions. Anders, well meaning though he was, contributed to his friends fall. Now the two are stuck together, one driven insane by a human mind, and another crushed under the guilt of his own actions.

So, his personal quest (assuming there are for each comapnion) might be trying to redeem the spirit? Or something that will happen near the end maybe?

Anders will be redeemed through the power of.............LOVE!!

Or by lots of lyrium and mages.  ^_^

I approve of Janders. I was incredibly curious about Justice in DA:A and Anders, despite looking like that idiot Alistair, was actually quite interesting (and amusing) Nice to see Bioware expanding upon them.

Well, they have to decide on something. My ending was different than yours, as he never died. With multiple decisions that can be made, you cant really have a cannon ending anyway. You cant ignore my actions just because you want it a certian way that you decided.

The problem is, it takes away that sense of player control. Bioware has talked time and again about allowing players freedom of choice and that sense of control over the storyline. By deciding for us what has happened though, they are essentially stripping us of that power to decide FOR OURSELVES. It's this that really gets to me.

How? Last time i checked, i could still decide between harrowmont and Aeducan. Alistair and Anora. Circle or Templars. Our choices matter withing the game that we are currently playing. Sometimes a company MUST make a choice to further their designs, fans be damned. If they didnt, they wouldnt get anywhere.

Besides, in a world where death can be overruled by a spirit, demon, or super adorable kitty named Ser Pounce-a-lot, this makes sense,

I would assume that Avelline and Janders will be at each others throats sooner than later.

Meet Anders. Some of you may remember Anders from Dragon Age: Origins Awakening, but this mage has changed. Now bonded with the Spirit of Justice, his anger at the Circle of Magi has corrupted Justice into the Spirit of Vengeance. Everyday is now a struggle to contain the spirit within, and everyday it becomes harder to control.

This is not the Anders you remember.

No more snarky, cat lovin', light-hearted Anders like... ever? I has a sad. Image IPB

Eh, at least that certain Xbox 360 achievement makes more sense to me, especially if it is connected to Anders and his current state of affairs. There's hope yet for a cure! I shall find it! *pets achievement* My precioussss.

Oh, right. YAY, an official Anders thread! And it's been made sticky! ... Andraste's sword, that sounded so much better in my head. Image IPB

*heavy sigh* I think I need to go lay down. Information overload in regards to Anders has caused a short circuit within my cranial cavity. I thought I could smell something burning.

Anders: *sniffs the air* Smells like chicken, to be honest.

Ser Pounce-a-lot: *sniffs the air as well; purrs loudly* Mreow!

I'd say that the most interesting element of the whole character reveal is that we have a new flavor of demon out of it. While what I recall of the cannon never explicitly limited the varieties of demon, vengeance is an interesting variety because it's largely a reactive form of malice instead of the more natural or aggressive forms documented in DA:O. There's some very promising space to play with the morality of this character and the broader cosmology at the same time.

I am so pleased with all of todays announcements, especially this one!

God, if all the companions are LIs, I am going to have the hardest damn time deciding between Varric, Fenris, Anders, and Isabela.

Y'know, Anders head corrupting Justice into Vengance makes me wonder if all bad fade spirits and demons were originally...not bad. D: Food for thought, really.

So chances are that depending on how that scene played out Anders and Justice will have some kind of arrangement like Wynne's in DA:O or simply did this after Justice returned Kristoff's body to its family. What gets bizarre is if Anders died and Justice lived, in which case a mighty retcon is in order.

I must applaud Bioware for this twist. I wasn't initially excited about the possibility of Anders returning because I found him rather shallow and uninteresting in Awakening. Justice on the other hand was one of my favorite companions and the most fascinating element of the expansion.

Now combining Justice-turned-Vengeance with an underdeveloped companion from Awakening seems like an excellent idea. Plus Anders is both a mage and a grey warden, which all in all has so much potential for delicious storylines.

Today's been just marvellous.
