My FemHawke (and I) wanted Anders until I read the various analyses of that little one-shot, and now... Now, I don't know. I don't... I can't... Okay, I'm going to go sit over here and cry miserably, along with my FemDalish who, in my head, fell in wuv with Anders during Awakening.

SEE WHAT YOU'VE DONE, BIOWARE?!?! YOU MADE ME CRY!!!! CURSE YOU! CURSE YOU (and all the halflings)!

::pat pat::  It's okay, don't give up!

Seriously, we have no idea how this romance will pan out.  And think of all the amazing romances and character stories Bioware has written.  I truly think we're in good hands.

@Tank what was the question? And I agree about how well they've done Anders. I've said it before, but they've taken all the Alistair bits out and left pure AWESOME.

You know, I find it really interesting how well the team who made Anders' face kept with his original model. The returning characters had updates, but Anders looks pretty close to his original appearance.

*snip*

Agreed.

With all the revamps of people (Isabela, Flemeth) I was really concerned about how returning characters would look.

They did a good job recreating him, AND making him look subtly different - his "has been ill/stressed/overworked" look.

See?  I can say nice things about DA2.  Posted Image

Flemeth actually looks a lot more like herself than people were thinking at first. It's the outfit more than anything that makes her look different I think.

This Awakening Epilogue:

"Anders will remain with the Grey Wardens to train the Order's next generation of mages. When he is called by the Circle of Magi to deliver a lecture on the nature of the Architect - much to the templars' dismay - he tells the Commander of the Grey that his time with the Wardens is over. No longer a part of the Wardens, the Chantry brands him an apostate, but never captures him. He is last seen on a pirate ship with a familiar woman."

How do I get it? If it really is Isabela then I would like to get that Epilogue and se what happens in DA2.

Anyone?

*Sigh* I have to ask, since I returned a few hours later and saw no one response to my short story post at page 89. Anyone?

I liked it! I just couldn't really comment on it because I read in on the way home in the car on my husband's iPhone.

I know that there are a few people who have sort of ongoing fanfiction stories about Anders and their Warden, so I thought that it was some backstory about how he could have been with your Warden and still gone to Kirkwall, which is cool.

I like that I'm not the only one that entirely creates backstory for my PC.

Or I . . . read it wrong. :crying:

Well maybe if the Chantry didn’t make their Templars so delicious, Anders wouldn’t have to eat them. Posted Image

I concur. That's obviously what happened.

I think it's pretty darn obvious from the end of the fic that Anders doesn't like what he's done - he's not all "Yeah! Let's go cook some humans!". He's horrified and ashamed and needs to get away. And this is right at the beginning of the Anders/Justice arrangement. From what I've seen he seems to have it a LITTLE bit more under control by the time Hawke meets him.

Sorry, I've never had that ending. I know it's possible, but not sure how you get there. Maybe by doing everything - keeping him around and upgrading the keep - except his phylactery quest?

@Miri and SgtEllas, *sob* Thank you. *hug* In my fandom, Nhek is solely created to romance Anders. I had to think of a reason why he left the Vigil, given he was so found it at the end of Awakening.

Yep, that's why I think this is after our Warden left Vigil's Keep. Whoever we left in charge, or whoever they left in charge (I'm actually guessing they sent someone used to command from Weisshaupt after our Warden leaves) may have made a deal with the Chantry to hand Anders over, or to simply gain more power within the Order.

I think its pretty clear. Rolan joined the Warden's to spy for the templars (wonder what happened when he found out about the limited life?). He saw Anders and Justice make their deal, took it to the Warden Commander who agreed that if Anders was an abomination that he had to die. I'm generally on the mages side but the evidence would have been fairly clear about Anders, Rolan was around when it happened. So I can't exactly blame the Warden's for sanctioning his killing.

What irks me about this story is that it wasn't handled within the Wardens, which is what my Warden-Commander would have done. My Commander would have also arranged for Rolan's immediate transfer to Weishaupt for questioning.

He didn't have it in the video clip that I saw. Whether that's final or not, I can't say.

I'm starting to formulate a theory that the Chantry saw that (this version of) the Warden was soft on mages, was harbouring an apostate, and helped said apostate murder several templars while breaking and entering with the intent to destroy a phylactery. So they pulled some strings and when the Warden Commander left to fulfill his or her epilogue, the new Commander the Grey Wardens sent from Weisshaupt was sympathetic towards the Chantry and perhaps was even an ex-Templar themself. This new Commander then recruited Rolan specifically to root out Anders and any other signs of malifecarum within the Fereldan Order members.
I like to think that it all got a bit political, with the Wardens and Chantry striking a deal far away in the Anderfels that royally screwed over the Fereldans.

I don't know... The writers have done a pretty good job of making me think they're sadistic monsters. There was a time when I could foresee what they were going to do because of one reason: "That's how I'd write it!" (And I am somewhat known for yanking out twists that pull the rug out from everyone.) But this time... I may stick around this thread, though, if only for your confidence.

But I have sadly decided my answer to the earlier question of "If you had to kill abomination!Anders, would you?" I think my answer is... yes. If it came to that... I'd probably suck it up, grab a fistfull of tissues, and do it.

I'd assumed that, as well. I don't think he'd let himself be around a bunch of sick refugees if he were likely to snap and kill people at any given moment.

I think the earring was part of the hair mesh (dunno if thats the right word to use) so when they gave him a recolored version of Duncan's hair it also gave him the earring and now he no longer has that hair style so the ring is gone.

Though I will say I'll miss it, I thought it was awesome and I don't know why they didn't add it to the new style unless they never wanted him to have it in the first place.

That makes total sense. I just watched the IGN clip - had no idea it was even there. (I guess I should have gone investigating when all these new SS showed up. Doh) :pinched:

I can top that. I didn't even notice it was missing.
