Now you have me torn between a rogue and a warrior as my first playthrough.
Glad to see Templar back. That was my favorite specialization in Origins. I always loved doing Holy Smite.

I'll likely play a mage next, but I like my two-handed tank.

On Friday last week we said this weeek would be warrior week. Well, here is the first update of new information on Warriors. The most physical of the classes in Dragon Age 2, a warrior is at his or her best when surrounded by foes, keeping their attention with powerful swings while allies wreak havoc in relative safety.

Hmmm. Mr. Priestly's favourite class is warrior, and it's also the first to be revealed -- coincidence, I think not!
Excellent update!

I am currently playing as a two-handed warrior (I always play a warrior first). While I can't promise it is always easy (see my comment in the stupid STUPID rock wrait thread), I can say it is really fun. There is a good mix of available weapons for both "sword" & shield (or axe, mace, etc) and two handed.
I'll likely play a mage next, but I like my two-handed tank.
Thank you Chris!

lol, there is some irony to that. It seems though that the abilities of Champion (or something along these lines) are included in the new "battlemaster" branch. From the description at least.Brockololly wrote...
Gah.... first you kill my Dual Wield warrior and now you kill the Champion spec. In a game where you're supposed to be the Champion of Kirkwall.

Regarding the specializations, what's the practical difference between the reaver and the berserker? I mean, they kinda feel similar (again, from descriptions) -- increase damage you do at some penalty to yourself, then regain what you spent on enemy defeat, balance the use carefully so you don't kill yourself in the process.
edit: battlemaster, not warmonger; my bad.

Battlemaster seems to be the equilevant of Champion, sure it isn't exactly a spec anymore, but it is something.

This. I wasnt too upset over the loss of dual weild for warriors, but the Champion spec was my favorite.Brockololly wrote...

The companions have their own custom specializations. They don't use Hawke's.dreamextractor wrote...
So Fenris is probably a Berserker. What about Carver, though? O:
I like these but I hope this game has 1 more hidden spec or so, too.

Yep, same here. Speaking purely from a character-bilding standpoint and disregarding the gameplay bonuses, none of the revealed specs seem particularly appealing, so far.
