Yeah but rogues have moved away from that in DA2 to become acrobatic ninjas. If you want to create a skilled duelist type warrior in DA2 you can't whereas you were exactly that as a rogue in DAO.crimzontearz wrote...
well according to the devs both rogues and warriors are fighter archetipes so.....if you really want to DW play a rogue
Warriors tho have default AoE swings now
As for the specs, champion etc obviously to even up the talents between the 3 classes they moved champion to become a standard talent tree rather than a spec. I'm personally disappointed reaver is there, with the explanations for how one can't become an Arcane Warrior in DA2 because there's no-one to teach it how can one become a reaver which came specifically from the dragon cult.

I see more Rogues have become the 1 on 1 dps fighter and warriors are now the AOE dps fighters
but then again maybe I am not that sensitive about it because I'll be playing a warrior

With DA2's general move toward viscera, warriors look even less appealing to me than they did before. I only hope that mages remain as non-visceral as I would like.

I hope Reaver is better this time, only skill that was useful they had was frightening appeareance to help pull aggro and hold one enemy still. Devour never seemed to work right and the other two skills required a mage to permanted attached to their butt healing them, which was silly cuz it was more effective for said mage to be tossing CC/hexes and some dps like mana clash/stonefist on petrified enemies, etc.
I never really liked Templar, didn't see the point. Their abilities are pointed towards being antimage but.. uh... MANA CLASH pwns all the Templar talents, lol. Just kill the damn mage in 2 seconds with one aoe spell - that can clear out entire rooms of mages and demons if your spellpower is good, lol. Least in DA, mana clash might have gotten gimped for DA2, if not removed.
I really hope 2H's still get indomibale, that's hands down my fav sustain for a warrior, set it and forget it and viola, no more getting knocked down or stunned. Tis why I prefer 2H's over W/S and I foresee me rolling with Fenris instead of Aveline.

Oh I'm playing warrior in preference to rogue because of the changes to rogue. 2H looks really good now. I doubt I'll do a rogue play through at all except maybe as an archer.

2 handers looks great because of the default AOE attacks

Still going to roll a sword and shield warrior to start with though. Just hope the threat mechanics are a little better this time around. Having enemies run past me to attack the archer that hasn't done anything to them yet was annoying.

Hard to say, probably going to go sword and board. Interesting trees though. Can't wait to see what's in them.

I don't usually play warriors, because I'd rather not have combat be a visceral experience. I'd prefer a more detached approach. In DAO I was even temted to mod out the casting animations for mages to make them a purely cerebral combatant with no physical aspect at all.

Sorry to say but, i think you would be dissapointed. If you watch the demo gameplay mages is highly visceral. They also have swordstaffs and all.
