I got berserker and reaver. And two-hander.

I'm happy.

That was not in origins this is not a sequel to awakening

Yeah I know... But none of the 3 specs appeal to me. I don't want to be an aposte ( Reaver ). I hate Chantry for their delusional teaching. ( Templar ) and I don't want to be barbarian ( Berserker ).

My warrior is the image of a noble knight with shield and heavy armor with allegiance only to his king and lords. I don't see that image anymore. :(

Very glad to see the Templar specialization is still in. Now my warrior Hawke can anti-cast and squash the squishy little mages >:-D

Berserker and Reaver were pretty obvious add-ins, though it will be a bit wierd playing a berserking templar or a templar that resorts to the very thing they fight in battle (dark, occultic tactics). Interesting character concepts can definitely be brewed from that...

Though I do hope that weapon & shield characters can be built as adequate dps and two hand warriors can be good tanks (although the reverse is ideal, I like to do different).

Using a Templar's abilities doesn't mean that you follow the Chantry.  It just means that you have the mental and physical ability to resist magic and disrupt it.

It would be nice if some of the Spirit Warrior talents made their way into Templar.........

Aveline and I will protect the poor widdle boys from the mean men with pointy weapons. <3

A little sad still that DW was removed from warriors, but I'll get over it, especially if the other specs are more fun this time around. 2h in particular took a while to get off the ground because it was so dang stamina thirsty.

I was wanting to have Champion as my #1 specialization, but I guess Berserker will have to do. I guess my female Hawke is going to be a 2H Berserker. It worked for Oghren...

Hey, remember we'll more then likely see an Expansion or two for DA2. And they can add a Warrior Specialization that allows you to Dual-Wield. Never give up hope!

Anyways; Warrior really impresses me so far. I can't wait to try it.

Exactly; like the qunari in the destiny trailer.  No one's mistaking him for a chantry supporter haha.  I have a feeling that in this game mages are really going to have a tough time fighting templars.  It's gonna be like in the lore where mages find their spells all but useless as the templars close in with no mercy; better hope you pre-ordered that sword staff lol

Berserker for me.
Gonna try and forge a nice mix of Two-Hander and Vanguard and see how it faires. Leaving the Battlemaster spec alone for now.

For the moment, my main party will be composed of the following:

Aveline - as main tank, with a strong combo of Defender and Warmonger
Varric - as an archer
Bethany/Anders - as the main healer, with a small dps build.

I hope the demo will give me a good idea on how the gameplay will be, but I'm also leaving the Hard and Nightmare settings alone until I figure out what definate spec I wanna play.

Cheers for the update Mr. Priestly :)

Yes! I love Berseker! My warrior will have berserk and templar specs :)

Eh I'm not sure what to put my warrior down now.

Will making him a Templar put him at odds with Bethany?

I might him a Zerker ... but in DA:O I had him a Champion so dunno if I can fit well as a Zerker.

Reaver ... eh not too interested in.

I could have sworn on one of those combat vids floating around out there that I saw Fenris using something that looked like spirit warrior so maybe it's been cannoblized into the other skill trees or maybe it's only a spec that Fenris can have now. Image IPB

Specializations.

Too few of them! Where is Guardian, the best spec? And you forgot about Champion- it must be here.

Peeps have been saying that Champion's talents have been cannoblized into other skill trees but I don't know about Gaurdian - that one was my favorite as well.

There is a skill tree called 'defender' it's spec...but I think it's rather close to what guardian was...and it seems like the a tree for those who wanna build their warriors as tanks...

I personally wanna know if the 2-handed substanible skill indomitable is in the game...that skill alone could allow for a 2-hander to tank his ass off...lol

Maybe Bioware has refined the role that they want the Warrior to play in combat, and buffing the party no longer needs to be linked to a specialization.

I don't particularly care how many specializations there are, I just want the ones we get to have depth.  It looks like while there are less specializations this time around, they will be a deeper experience.

I'm still undecided whether I want to be the party tank or fill in a dps role.

This certainly put me in awkward position between my aposte sister ( Bethany ) and the Chantry. I guess, I have to get used to it since it's the closest thing I can get. But if any of those Chantry Templars come to demand my loyalty, I'll bash their face with my shield. Templar or no Templar.

I'm still a little pissed that warrior went first. But I have to say Reaver looks a bit more interesting this time around.

Lol well thats why mages have spirit spells eh? Lower the templars chance of resistance significantly.

Gah.... first you kill my Dual Wield warrior and now you kill the Champion spec. In a game where you're supposed to be the Champion of Kirkwall.

*sigh*

So there is no DW warrior in DA2? i guess that role goes to rogues now.:bandit:

well according to the devs both rogues and warriors are fighter archetipes so.....if you really want to DW play a rogue

Warriors tho have default AoE swings now

Yeah but rogues have moved away from that in DA2 to become acrobatic ninjas. If you want to create a skilled duelist type warrior in DA2 you can't whereas you were exactly that as a rogue in DAO.

As for the specs, champion etc obviously to even up the talents between the 3 classes they moved champion to become a standard talent tree rather than a spec. I'm personally disappointed reaver is there, with the explanations for how one can't become an Arcane Warrior in DA2 because there's no-one to teach it how can one become a reaver which came specifically from the dragon cult.

Well, spolierey with regard to the achivements but one of them's for killing a high dragon, and where there's a dragon, there can be another dragon cult...
