Mage definitely. It's my favorite class. I will probably do 2 playthroughs first as a mage. Then my third playthrough will play as a rogue.

i am a mage in real life, no naturally its my favorite class.

im still going to start with a warrior, just to get a good feel with the game ... find out whos romanceable... etc etc. and have anders in my party

I have been a mage first in every rpg i have ever played.

2. Rouge(female)

3.Warrior(male)

Mage, first and forever!

I'm a slicer and dicer at heart, especially when faced with the prospect of having to wear a robe to throw lightning bolts around, but I'm sure at some point I'll play it through as a mage (my last playthrough I'm sure).

This character is a mage that I'm currently finishing up Origins with because I hated robes and couldn't stand to stare at a robed character for the length of a game. ;p Luckily, there's plenty of clothing/armor mods now so I can play a mage without looking like a fashion victim. 

My first playthrough will be as a rogue though, then as a warrior. Unless Aveline ends up being so obnoxious I can't stand being in her presence, then my first playthrough will be as a warrior. But, I like everything I've seen/heard about Aveline, so I don't think not liking the companion filling in the tanking spot is going to be an issue like it was with Origins when I counted the seconds till I could replace Alistair with another warrior.

As someone who personally prefers warriors and rogues and finds mages in most games to be terribly squishy and *dare I say it* overrated, I will be rolling a mage in my first playthrough!

-Hawke is related to the Origins human mage. I happen to have an Origins import of such a mage. What comes of it should be interesting
-Carver survives and is a potential rival to Hawke, the idea of a brother-brother rivalry (or even sister-brother) is epic, especially if Carver gets to look (somewhat like) Hawke
-There's the Staff of Parlathan (I may care less for mages, but arcane warriors/spellswords are a different story)
-Fenris is an LI...and he's had a past with those involved in magic. Makes the story that much more compelling...as well as the romance.

I plan at least one playthrough of each class, but I'm rolling the mage first. ; )

After watching some of the slick Mage animations in the gameplay videos, it's a no-brainer for me. Looks extremely fun.

Now, I'm just contemplating on whether to play as a LadyHawke or MaleHawke

Starting out with a mage aswell, i just watched the 10mins of gameplay over at gamestar.de and when the groups mage started opening fire with his staff.....AWSOME..... The darkspawn got pushed back by the torrent of fire from the staff. Also it was the pc version so the graphics looked very crisp compared to the console vids.

I going Mage first. I loved my Arcane Warrior, i know that's gone but with these sword staffs im curios to see how gone it really is.
