I will. I had planned on trying a sword a shield warrior, but if the Force Mage specialisation turns out to be what I hope it is (knocking enemies about with spells!) then it'll be too much fun to miss out on.
yes this. I may not use elemental spells as a mage. shocking isnt it?

I've heard that the Hawke in The Destiny trailer was a Blood Mage. Is that true? If it is, is that one move where he rips apart the qunari a blood mage ability?
That's just a mage finishing move.

For Crushing Prison, right? But then why do people say he is a Blood Mage?

JFarr74 though im not sure he does do a marking in his blood before casting so yes and if so it seems mage specialisations will be very well varied in abilities again great class adaption to play style im looking forward to choosing.

You can have more than one specialization, right?

Cause he used blood magic to fuel the spell. Part of blood magic is using blood to fuel any spell.

I just want to know if I can melee, that'll probably determine how excited I will be for character creation. o 3o

You can melee with a mage. The question is whether strength or magic will effect the damage done by melee attacks for staffs and staffblades.

Magic stat. The staff does the same damage whether its ranged or melee.

I know that the magic stat effects it for a regular staff, but what about a staff blade?

Its a staff no matter what only a mage can equip it.

I guess, maybe Bioware will explain it later..
There is no Arcane warrior so with that said there really is no point of a mage putting points into STR.

Each class has a different attribute that increases damage and attack: Strength for warriors, Dexterity for rogues, and Magic for mages.
