do Mages take considerably more damage than the other classes due to having less armor? I saw someone playing the demo and he got killed pretty fast when he was in close quarters with the enemy.

I know what video you mean.  It was really only because he did not use any healing spells or health potions

I'm deciding between a Mage or a Warrior during my first playthrough.I'll wait until the demo arrives to decide.A video of the mage in combat made me want to pick that first.It looks so much more improved from Origins.

Mage does decent melee damage but can't take much damage, at least at the beginning of the game. I think the recharge time on heal is now slower though.

Regardless of what is shown in the upcoming demo, I'll be playing as a mage in my first playthrough. I will also be a force mage, whatever that is and hopefully make a melee mage build.

I always go in to attack.I enjoy to do more physical damage rather than magic from distance.That's what has me worried in DAII when I'll be using those bladed staff weapons.I wouldn't want to die quickly because I love rushing in.I guess if I kill them faster they won't be able to damage me...

No, it wasn't.  Watch the Live EA demonstration of Dragon Age 2.  Look it up on Google.

I picked the mage for my first play through because i was hopping it would be cooler in this one, and it WAS the mage is so much better in this one than the first one. (my opinion)

What should I be alongside a Force Mage: Blood Mage or Spirit Healer?

It depends on who you take with you. If you bring Anders along, Blood Mage. If you bring Merrill along, Spirit Healer. If you bring neither, Spirit Healer if you want a healer, Blood Mage if you don't.
