For me, the whole "Loghain or me" thing from Alistair came totally out of the blue at the landsmeet. Given the chance, I would have smacked Alistair hard for this weird fit. Yes, Loghain abandoned Duncan. Yes, Duncan was Alistairs father figure.

But no, that's no reason to make that kind of childish scene. Politics is dirty and you, Mr. Alistair, like it or not, are supposed to be king. Kings don't go into emotional tantrums in front of their assembled nobility. Way to go, templar boy... actually that moment made me think long and hard if I should kick Alistair out of the picture and have Anora rule.

Which COULD have been a golden chara development / roleplaying moment. But it wasn't. Simply because nothing in any previous conversation with him suggested he would make that kind of silly ultimatum.

And so this broke the immersion for me big time.
Suddenly there was this clunky game plot mechanic staring at me, from where Alistair should have been.

Did you ask Alistair what he thought needed to be done about Loghain prior to the Landsmeet?  Or kill Connor?

To me, the problem with the Landsmeet was Loghain's inexplicable heel-face turn.  For him to be willing to join the Grey Wardens or to die "knowing that Ferelden is in good hands" when he believes the Wardens are a tool of Celene, makes about as much sense as Morrigan becoming a chantry sister.
