I purchased and downloaded all 12 GB of the game, only to receive an IO error very early during the installation process, which was aborted. After deleting the presumably corrupt download file, the game content no longer appears in the Playstation store. Where's my $59.99 and/or game?!

Being old school, I assumed the culprit was a corrupted download file, which was interrupted a few times. This also resulted in a "Corrupt Data" file in the games folder. I deleted the DLC (painful to delete downloaded 12GB), went back to the Playstation store and now the Mass Effect 2 game is missing from the store - it may be selected in a few ways: clicking on a billboard or via clicking on an icon found by search, but it results in either a blank Playstation store page, or a 'No content found' message. All the other DLC for Mass Effect 2 appears, including the Cerberus content, which was downloaded and installed successfully. (Surprised it installed without the game, but maybe that's just good design!).

Sony seems to be an unresponsive behemoth. I'm hoping BioWare/EA can help resolve.

THanks,

Sean, Ph.D., software and networking professional...

Did you go to the "Downloads List"? I'm sure it's still in the store. The download list is one of the options in the top right of the PSN store (next to the cart icon).

Also why don't you just browse the store alphabetically, I'm positive ME2 will still be listed.

Nope, ME2 is gone from the PSN store, at least in North America. It's been like that for around a week.

However, the full game is still available in the download list for those who have downloaded ME2 already. From the XMB, go to Playstation Network > Account Management > Transaction Management > Download List and scroll down until you find the game.

So I guess Sony thought the problem was so bad they've basically recalled digital copies of the game. I wouldn't be surprised if they start printing new retail versions once the fix comes

Remember when Chris said this was happening to a "small" amount of users? I had a feeling he was going to be terribly wrong, and this kinda proves it. Is there any official explanation for the game being taken off?

many items in the store go invisible after purchase and 1st download. Not sure if its a glitch or by design.

Best way to find anything purchased and previously downloaded is to go to your download list from the XMB Playstation Network > Account Management > Transaction Management > Download List or link in top right corner when in the PSN store.

Now if only we could sort and search this list lol, mine is over 500 item large now finding certain content is a slow process that should be much easier.

this thing happened to me about a week ago bought the game and it disappeared from download list. Unfortunately the only way to resolve this is through sony support. It took them 7 days for me to actually play the game after i bought it

Actually, let me first say that PS support is working with me and they are fairly responsive. I'm not successful yet, but I have some to-do's from their support. (Sorry, it took me awhile to get back to this forum)

1. Support says I must have the ME demo installed in order to access the ME full game download and it must be installed when installing the game. I basically have to start over and it will take awhile to download. My normal procedure would be to delete the demo prior to installing the game in order to have a clean install - I've had console problems where a demo and full game simultaneously installed caused confusion. My guess is that they are trying to avoid having you re-play the first level.

2. FYI, during the time that the full ME download was missing from the store (presumably because I deleted the demo). The download did appear in the "My Downloads" section in the tiny icon in the upper right (never knew that was there). However, when re-downloading from there, it stops at 70% - happened twice in a row, and it appears to be downloading, but it does not. Other content downloads still work perfectly. Anyway, since I've already departed from their recommended procedures, I'm not going to worry about that now - just describing the symptom.

I'm going to leave the full game ME2 in the active downloads, download the ME2 demo, install the ME2 demo, and hopefully the full game ME2 download will progress beyond the 70% and complete (8.5GB invested!). Then I will play the demo briefly, then install the full game ME2.

It may be that the ME2 full game download that's halted at 70% is doomed and I'll have to try to re-download it again (for the 4th time).

Well, the install process is a big screw up on their part - it is definitely not robust or idiot proof (or Ph.D. proof!). A simple warning that the demo needed to be installed would have helped avoid this situation.

Thanks all for the feedback!
