Use Miri and her Shuriken in combination with your Shuriken (short burst fire) to strip shields/barriers.
Then use incenerate to take care of armor and Miri's warp for the same.
Then cloak and headshot.
Use Jacob as bait. Send him to cover with the shotgun closest to the enemy, Miri a bit back and yourself as far back as you can be while still able to get target brackets.
Do the missions that have sniper, smg, and tech damage upgrades first. If you have the dlc, do Kasumi's right after Mordin's for the Locust. That's just for you, though, keep your team on the shuriken/tempest since they don't miss and get better damage against shields/barriers with these weapons vs. the locust. You use the locust for better accuracy at range vs. the tempest/shuriken.

Good point I forgot to ask are you cloaking before you set up that sniper shot , you get more damage power when you do , especially since you took assassin evolved.

IME, Soldier is FAR better for sniping. AR provides quite a lot more damage than Cloak.sigma_draconis wrote...
I do wish to try a CQC Infiltrator one day, but I sort of started playing them because I enjoyed sniping as a Soldier so much and Infiltrator is suppossed to be the sniping class.
Cloak as damage booster for sniping sucks in many situations, since quite often enemies seek cover when you are invisible.

Always, I've rarely sniped without cloaking as it saves me sniper ammo (which is valuable for the Widow) as well as protecting me from enemy fire. Though sometimes this does mean that I tend to stay in cover more to allow my cloak to recharge.

If this had been when I first started my Infiltrator I would have agreed with you. But now that I've gotten the hang of it, I'm torn between which one is actually better. Yes AR gives better damage bonus and time dilation effect, but Cloak ensures that no one is firing at you while you are setting up a shot. And since the time dilation is passive, there's no need to wait for your powers to recharge (though I still do).
And I find that if at least one squadmate is alive, the enemy will go for them if you cloak, so they won't stay in cover for long. It's only when you're alone that they take cover when you cloak. In that case I try to draw them out and the moment they poke their head out of cover, I cloak and try to shoot before they have time to return.

I don't feel like making a new thread, so I'll put this question here for anyone else interested:
Which is the best pure sniper infiltrator build? I know assassin/assassination cloak are musts, but what else? would anyone recommend going squad cryo+heavy disruptor+heavy warp ammo+incinerate 1, or squad disruptor+heavy warp ammo+incinerate 4, or heavy disruptor/squad cryo/incinerate 4, or something entirely else?
(note, 1 and 4 mean levels, not points put in skill)

As a *pure* sniper Infiltrator, Squad Cryo can be be problematic if your squadmates freeze enemies from long range and cause them to fall behind cover. Other builds can better utilitize cryo b/c they can get closer easier, but pure snipers would probably want to look elsewhere.
Disruptor Ammo and Incinerate are very useful, both for damage, cc and environmental effects (disruptor apparently sets off explosives like overload does)
Bonus power can be anything from Warp Ammo for bonus damage, or an insta-stun like Neural Shock to help better line up shots (<- disruptor ammo will already do this to synthetics).

I recommend going for this squad warp ammo/ Heavy Incinerate/ Squad Disruptor. Warp ammo is great because it affects a large spectrum of protection with disruptor filling ups its whole. having squad versions of the ammo powers really makes a characters more useful and at the end of the day with proper usage allows you do do more damage than with just your character using the heavy alternative. Incinerate is great for a sniper especially due to it's curve which will allow you to hit guys in cover. Cryo is an interesting power but as Locust_of_BORG has mentioned it's squad alternative will cause problem and if going the heavy route in terms of ammo powers then warp or armor-piercing if you are willing to passup on barrier penetration makes for better choices.
