Thing is, I don't see how BioWare would let an opportunity to create more characters pass them by. Sure, we'd like them to delve deeper into the stories of characters they've already created, but has there ever been a BioWare game where they didn't, you know, make more characters? And if lurking in the DA2 forums has taught me anything, it's that the second BioWare introduces a new character, the question is: can you romance them?

Lol, that's because DAO broke all the rules when it came to romanceability. Though you are right, BW wouldn't be BW without some romanceable characters in its RPGs.

We have 9 romance options already.

I'd rather have the characters we already have expanded on instead of wasting resources on creating more.

If people are new to ME3/want to play a skeezebag Shepard they should simply have some potential consort-esque encounters.

Everyone wins.

No, it didn't. You know why? Because I couldn't romance Sten, couldn't romance Canderous, and can't romance Zaeed. Why don't tough guys want love, BioWare? Zaeed and I, we could have walked away from many blown buildings together without looking back, all the while sharing our cigars and our bed--no. No, I'm not going there.

To answer your questions, I think there could quite easily be more romance-able characters in Mass Effect 3, anything is possible, but I don't think that there should be, it's already into the 3rd game, either build onto the previous romances, or make a few characters (Zaeed, Kasumi, Samara and Mordin) characters you can only romance in the last game, and make them more spur of the moment infatuation type romances.

I hope there will be more romance options in ME3, and I expect it too.

You know, most of the characters I want to be romance options are the Renegade "tough guys." Zaeed (but he'd have to be in my game first), Kai Leng (also needs to be in the game first), TIM (needs to appear in person instead of a hologram first), Saren (needs to be resurrected first), and the list goes on... not in that order, and I don't really expect it to happen, but ME3 just might be my favorite game ever if it did. Basically, I'd like more male Renegade romance options for my FemSheps. Most of the current romancable characters are more Paragon than Renegade, but my Shepards... are not.

Granted but still, I've never seen a dwarf dude and an elf dude ever get it on before (and still haven't - thankfully)

For me it's more important to have a way to continue the the romances with the LI:s that already are present. That's quite a few of them.... Sure bring on some more because there are probably many players who would like that. As long as there is a meaningful way for my shep to continue with Kaidan  :)

I'm more for few LI:s that are well-written and have lots of dialogue and plot than many LI:s with perhaps 2 discussions and then bunk-time. But that's just me   :wizard:   Needless to say I'm a hopeless romantic

ME3 still has to work as a standalone game not just a conclusion to a trilogy so there has to be some new stuff including LI's. It's getting crowded ,depending on the results of the suicide mission. Bad planning I think, because like in ME2 they are going to to have to ignore a lot of what you did to keep things managable.

6 returning characters. 6 new ones.

Tali/Garrus/Miranda/Jacob/Kaidan/Ashley plus six total newbies(some of whom will certainly be LI's)

That's my story, and I will stick to it. Though the only returns I'd bet on would be Miranda, Garrus, and Tali...the other three are just my best guesses.

And what about Jack and Thane fans?

That's why I propose the idea of letting you pick and choose what squadmates return to ME3, limit it five or six. The rest are newbies.

Thane should die I've got nothing against him , he's very useful but he's supposed to be dying so he should go off and spend his last days/months with his son not be dragged around on the crew.

They are terminal(Thane's illness and Jack's mental degeneration).

If it weren't for that, I'd place both of them before Jacob.

Personally I'd prefer it to be the six ME2 LI's plus the VS, and five newbies.

Even more variables requiring Bioware to decide if it's worth the manageable but still finite resources for VA work.

Is Tali alive for this person? then Does this person wish for Tali to return?

Doubles the likelihood of a character not being used, either by death or by choice.

I would imagine only a very small amount of new characters would be introduced, as in up to 4 plus the VS.

I don't expect Wrex or Liara to return as joining squadmates, although it would be pretty cool to work with Wrex a couple of times to truly solidify his influence as a Krogan Warlord over all the Tuchanka clans or something.

I think it would be interest if the love interest for Mass Effect 3 was
someone from Shepard's pre-Mass Effect past. While playing through the
game you could also play through flashbacks from a mission in which
Shepard was on, with this love interest (ex-lover), until s/he appears
halfway through Mass Effect 3, perhaps initially as an enemy, before
eventually joining the squad. What do you think?

More recruitment/loyalty missions? GTFO is all I have to say on the matter.

1 to replace Thane, fair enough. 2, maybe. 3 or more and the game gets shelved.

I like personal missions. They shouldn't be like loyalty though (Omg, you mean it's only now that Tali's worked out how to Energy Drain something? I mean... it could have been really useful before...)

They should be like Dr. Saleon's for Garrus, something that's unlocked after you've talked to that person for a while.
