Would it not be pure awsome to play as Garrus during his stint on Omega?!

Could be epic!!!

What do you think?

Don't want to play as anyone but Shepard in the main trilogy, tbh.

I'd rather play a character, that is not insanely boring.
(hint: anyone but Garrus)

The ME trilogy is Shepards story so they should stick to having us play Shepard. I´m not so fond of playing a already well-developed character in a new game. It would completely demolish any roleplaying since Garrus is Garrus and he has already been made.

Shepard was atleast half a blank slate.

Maybe an alternate campaign like in DOA? I think it would be cool, and a nice change of pace.

I don't want a change of pace until we've finished Shep's story. After that....sure. Why not.

I think that's a terrible idea. It reminds me of Leliana's Song from DA. Why would I want to play through something I already heard about in game? I already know what happens and how it ends, BORING. It doesn't add anything, and I personally, am not a fan of DLC that doesn't add to the main story.

And I agree, ME is Shepard's story. And it better frickin' stay that way with these damn multiplayer rumors.

Besides, isn't the last DLC supposed to be another ME2 to ME3 bridge type thing that's supposed to come out,, rumor has it, like two weeks before ME3?

I would not want to play DLC of any of the squadmates. But I would like to play some as they guy from the ME3 trailer for a different perspective.

This and if any characters deserve their dlc it's Ash and Kaidan.

Yeah, BioWare has some serious redeeming to do there after the mess that was Horizon.

Now as a potential spin-off? I'd be interested. Would be nice to see BioWare going all the way with a defined protagonist, instead of falling back on the deadpan-blockhead formula.

Come to think of it, I'd love to see a game covering Ash or Kaidan's 2 years, especially since Kaidan is now the new Commander.

I'm against that for 2 reasons.

1. They are boring (that's personal)
2. Anything you do will be half as long unless you treat them as clones like in ME2.

I'd rather focus on the new than the old anyway.

I liked the whole Horizon encounter, made it interesting. It would have been really stupid/ lame if they both just said, "OMG it's the Commander, can I join you? It'll be like old times!"

Ok not like that, but you get the picture.

Sometimes I think they just should've killed off Kaiden as the cannon and then focused on having Ash as the main VS.

I didn't mind the end result of the Horizon encounter, I just didn't like how it got there. I mean; they practically go from singing your praises and how you're absolutely awesome and that they'd follow you anywhere and then suddenly go 180 on you as soon as someone says Cerberus.

That's even more amusing and 'petty' considering that Garrus and hell Tali could be standing behind you. So it becomes more like: "So, you're human, and you refuse to work with me because of Cerberus, despite the fact that I've got two aliens behind me who should be even more reserved about it."

Then again, they probably just assume that Shephard would be completely successful in his mission, and only refused because they still have careers to worry about.

But why are you worrying? You can play as Garrus. Just use a mod

As much as I love me some Garrus and think he is the ish, especially as a romance option, I don't think playing as any companion character would be a good set-up for a DLC/story.

A DLC with Garrus and Shepard wouldn't be a bad thing. I'd buy it. But as others have said, Kaidan/Ash deserve their own DLC first due to the Horizon ick.

We will get a story bridging DLC. So no more Garrus for you.
Also, Garrus was prominently featured in ME 2 anyway.

I still wonder how anyone would want anything other than a DLC that would feature Ash/Kaidan.
I mean how greedy can one get, all the other characters (except Wrex maybe) already played a big role in ME 2, were even squadmates. Yet still you want more.
The only characters (After LotSB) that did not get the attention they deserve in ME 2 are Ash and Kaidan, and the upcoming DLC is the only chance that this will be rectified.

Why the hell should it be one or the other, can't we get more than one DLC before ME3?

The thing is this, Garrus is badass and the VS is half dead.

I like Ash and all that but I feel like they told me to '****** off' in my time of need while Garrus backed me up.

He honored the bro code, while the VS were faders!

The way I see it, Garrus didn't have any other option than to join Shepard. He doesn't get any bonus points for that.
Lets face it, Garrus pretty much failed at life and Shepard had to save him. Doesn't look so badass anymore, when you think about it.

Reason in bold. Biowares fault, but then there is that old adage about not re-enforcing failure.

1. The people on Omega called him Archangel! What did the people of Horizon call the VS, 'that alliance rep'.

2. Garrus caused so much trouble for the biggest merc bands in the galaxy that the yall band up and tried to kill, he survived for days on his own taking countless merc down. While the VS tried to shoot bugs with an assault rifle, and missed (duh).

3. Garrus led a successfull team of specialists in many succesfull mission, showing great leadership abilities. The VS could not even get the colonists to run away from obvious danger of the approaching collector ship.

4. Response to Shepard trying to recruit them (rough translation) Garrus: "Just like old times!"

VS: "I trusted you Shep..blahblahblahblah..I don't trust Cerberus..blahblahblah....goodluck commander (on the suicide mission) I'm gonna go rat on you to the council!

5. Garrus helps Shepard save the galaxy yet again. The VS sits on the citedal sucking up to the council.

Who gets point's for what now?

It's rumored that there is one last story-bridging DLC so I feel that should be devoted to the VS.  If I'm mistaken then I would love an additional DLC that is going to get us hyped up for ME3.  Garrus was already in ME2 and we got to do his loyalty mission which is quite enough of him, imo.

Ash and Kaidan get so much slack around here when it should be geared toward the writers who butchered the Horizon scene.  I think it was the goal all along to make the ME2 chars seem cool while our old squadmates were painted in a negative light.  This makes me wonder if Garrus and Tali would be as popular if they had the tenacity to tell Shepard that they couldn't aid her in search of the Collectors.  Hmmm.

Personally, I never thought Garrus was very interesting in ME2 and I also found him extremely whiney over the fact that he chose the seediest place to be a vigilante.

He defended a chokepoint and had a turkey shoot, killing rookie mercs... And I don't believe he would have fared any better than the VS on Horizon. The threat level of the Collectors is slightly higher than that of a bunch of hired goons, imo.

3. Garrus led a successfull team of specialists in many succesfull mission, showing great leadership abilities. The VS could not even get the colonists to run away from obvious danger of the approaching collector ship.

Again, the Collectors are the more dangerous opponent and there was no way the scene on Horizon could have ended differently for the VS and the colonists.
Also, Garrus team was killed, that's does not qualifiy him as great leader.

That's true. But the VS has been informed about the rumours that Shepard faked his death and his affiliation with Cerberus. When he/she sees Shepard on Horizon, they must think that those rumours are indeed true. It's only natural of them to react suspicious in that situation. Add to that the after efffects of the paralysation, which probably doesn't help any person to make very good calls in a confusing environment.

5. Garrus helps Shepard save the galaxy yet again. The VS sits on the citedal sucking up to the council.

That's an assumption. We don't know what the VS has been doing before Horizon, nor do we know what they are doing afterwards. Maybe we'll find out in a DLC?

Who gets point's for what now?

Garrus gets points for trusting Shepard after his life has been saved by the Commander. That's it.
