See. that sfv file is simply a CRC check. CRC check basically is a well, easier to link it:
http://en.wikipedia....edundancy_check
I created that daoeadm.sfv file on my computer. Its basically just
a file match. What you just posted shows that your RAR files match my
known working RAR files perfectly. So, that rules out the possibility
of corrupted rars. Your computer is somehow botching the data when it
is trying to install. The hard part is figuring out why.
Lets try a few things. Completely clean your temp files. You can
use Disk Cleanup utility in windows for this. Right click on C: drive
and click properties. Then click Disk Cleanup. It will scan and look
for temporary files. Make sure that Temporary Files is checked. You can
uncheck clean cookies and temporary internet files if you want.
After that hit OK and let it clean them. Next, navigate to My
Documents and make sure there is no Bioware/Dragon Age folder and also
delete all old install logs. Then, Shut down ALL uneeded background
processes. Anything that boots with your computer and is still running
in the background. Virus scanners, winamp, mail apps, anything that's
not needed or ran by windows.
Make sure the DVD isn't in the drive either. Finally, start EADM
with admin privileges. Then instead of clicking install. Navigate to
the folder where you ran the SFV check ( the one with setup ) and
manually run setup with admin privileges.
This is important as well. Click custom install and choose a
directory OUTSIDE of program files. Create a C:/Games folder or
something and let the game install to C:/Games/Dragon Age . This is
important because Program Files often has permission settings and if
they aren't working right then the game wouldn't be able to properly
install there. Easiest workaround is to just install somewhere else.
This will in no way affect anything else except where the game is
located so no worries.
Once that's selected let the game install. If it doesn't work then
post the install log back here and we'll move on to hardware
troubleshooting.
Sorry its so long winded, and some of that may not be needed but
its easier to do all the steps at once then attempting to install over
and over.
