the paper is thinner than the Bioware lithos, and it rolls like a poster.
all in all, pretty neat collectible. haven't unrolled the posters yet and I doubt I will. too much trouble to try and not damage them getting them back into the tube.
a good deal for anyone liking Left 4 Dead and the concept art.

The Liara litho looks great framed - says me rather bitterly since my supply of lithograph-sized frames seems to have dried up! Maybe I'll have to pay a visit to the local framing emporium instead.

I did, because I'm an idiot who didn't pay attention when being trained to use a tape measure.NamiraWilhelm wrote...

In the end I ordered a second one which is still rolled up and stored away safely; if I'm ever rich I'll get it framed properly and donate the old one to someone who isn't so bothered about things they can't even see!

uh oh! sounds like you had a rough time of it
I doubt i'll ever frame that one... I'll just prop it up against something and display it, like now. I haven't time or space to frame any of them right now... I just have those flat boxes all over the house
Now I know what working at Treehouse feels like:wizard:

They seem to have stopped putting things like the dimensions, number printed etc on the website so I'll need to ask if they'll either provide the information there or confirm my assumption that it's the same as with the others...
I think I was having a major case of absent-mindedness when I was arranging the frame for that one! Though its large and unconventional size meant it was impossible to find a ready-made frame for it; they're hard enough to find at the best of times, though I admit I've been a bit lazy with finding a new source of frames for my regular lithographs since the previous type seem to have stopped being made. So I also have a rather large collection of boxes as well as loose lithos wandering about...Nadia73 wrote...

Actually it'd be nice to have a house in the US as we'd get about 20 times the space for the same price we paid for this shoe-box.
I really wouldn't bet the farm on that.... it's getting less 'you get what you pay for' and heading more towards 'you pay much more and we give you way less' over here

I think I was just shocked after hearing of a recent valuation on a relative's house which even though a smallish four-bedroom affair came to over £400,000 (about US$600,000 I think). That struck me as being rather outrageous, all things considered...Nadia73 wrote...

that was similar to what we have over here, though falling real estate prices would snag you the same for about $250-300K now.
Are you guys running out of room over there? Is that why prices are so high?

Partially, though that's only part of the reason; a lot of people have been using houses as an investment over the past 20-30 years too, which has also pushed the prices up a lot, although I suppose that wouldn't have happened if there was space to build new ones to take their place. It all sucks for those of us who like lots of space, though!Nadia73 wrote...

Anyway, my saga with DHL over their overcharging import taxes still continues with no end in sight: I've escallated it to their complaints department who are steadfastly ignoring me. I've now contacted Trading Standards who've given me the contact details of one of their bigwigs, and if he continues to ignore it (which I expect he will) then I guess I'll have to go to court to force them to repay the debt and costs. It'd be a lot easier to just not use DHL at all in future; they've certainly been the most troublesome of the major couriers.
To add to that, I've only just opened the parcel to find they've crushed it, so all the posters are creased anyway. Though it seems that there are two sets of creases, so I can only assume Valve also creased them when packing them as the tube isn't damaged at that spot. It would be very easy to lose enthusiasm for lithograph and poster collecting considering how many get damaged in transit: I'd estimate about 60% arrive with some form of damage, though unlike this latest batch it's usually minor.

Er, yeah, Valve's signed lithos have always been hideously expensive. You do get Gabe Newell's autograph, though.

Valve also supply a rather nice certificate of authenticity with the lithographs that's signed by the artist.
