May not be a big deal for some but it has been rattling around in my head for a while now.

I just wanted to say thanks to BioWare, who might not see this but oh well, for a truly epic SciFi RPG that you call Mass Effect.  Not the single game, but the series as a whole.  Not since Buck Rogers on the PC many years ago has a sci-fi rpg gotten me so wrapped up to where I seem to play it endlessly.
I like KOTOR 1&2, I'll always love Star Wars, and those games were great.  So I'd never say anything againt those.

Most of my RPGs are Fantasy based.  BioWare storytelling is just awesome as are the moral choices.  Probably the best part of their games.  I still do a playthrough of Jade Empire and KOTOR2 from time to time.  Been playing their games since the Baulder's Gate days.
I recently read the DRM for Dragon Age 2 and was happy that BioWare continues to provide long term plans to patch out DRMs so that if the worse case happens, the players who love it can still go back to play it years down the road.  There are people who still play NWN2, Baulder's Gate, etc..  Technology changes so those games remain on older machines but they can still be played regardless.

Some games stand the test of time.  I'd like to think the Mass Effect series will be one of them.

Totally agree.

As i said in another thread, to me, the game is nearly perfect. I am enjoying greatly the storyline, the action, the chars are very solid and incredibly well built. And, in comparison with other sagas, i dont get bored and instead play time after time.

-I wish this saga never ended. Im sure developers can make up more storylines to keep the action going on. You dont even need to be shepard always the hero. The universe you guys at Bioware have created is too big and complex to need a single hero. I wont make any spoilers but i can think of additional storylines to keep the story going after ME3 (assuming that the developers didnt already think about them). So please dont go for the classic trilogy approach: im sure noone will complaind if you make it to ME7!.

Im having a hell of a good time with this game, one of the best i have ever played (and i am a Spectrum-era player!). Dont let the saga die.

Have to agree. People have a tendency to complain rather then praise, so nice to see some praise.

I disagree on it carrying on after ME3, but I would love spin-off titles.

Three cheers for Bioware! But anyway you're quite right, the Mass Effect games are unlike anything else I've ever played. It is a revolutionary franchise in the gaming industry, and will have huge effect on the future of gaming, impacting the direction. Check this out, it explains what I mean.

I only started playing Mass Effect last week, and have already done 2.5 playthroughs. (1 Mass Effect, 1.5 Mass Effect 2). Logged 128 hours so far since end of Jan, lol... I think I'm hooked, and its all because the Mass Effect universe means more to me now than any other game I have - no other shortcut seems to appeal anymore lol. I can't stop playing, and replaying it.

An awesome universe, I can only hope it lasts beyond Mass Effect 3 as well, although I'm obviously looking forward to that as well :) I'm so greedy for ME :)

I am in agreement, I have never played a game as many times as I have Mass Effect 1 and 2.

Thank You Bioware, and please make Mass Effect 3 even better than the others.

Be glad you just started, Zirconium. Every time I finish each ME, it's bittersweet, because I realize the wait is going to be killer until the next page of the story begins anew. Perhaps DA2, LA Noire, and everything else will help dull that out.

Thank You Bioware, and please make Mass Effect 3 even better than the others.

Considering the developers aren't particularly talkative at the moment probably means they're hauling butt on it as we speak. It's a labor of love, so you can count on it.

I began my gaming career at three years old in 1996, on a Turbograpfx16, playing Bomberman '94 and since that great moment when I finally touched a pad for the first time of my life, only two times I had THAT emotion of pure epicness, of pure genius, of attachment to a game or a licence. It happened in 1998 when I touched my First Zelda game (Ocarina of time) and until then, it only happened in 2008 when I played the Xbox version of Mass Effect.

Thank you BioWare, Do not fail me with your last and third Mass Effect.

Funny I was anticipating Mass Effect's release (360) for about a year, the reason I bought the damn thing along with Oblivion. Bought ME Revelations around the time of it's release but then I joined the USAF and "got a life". So it was 2009 and still no Mass Effect. Then one day went to one of my buddies crib from BMT and there it was (for PC)!!! First thing I did was go home to get my laptop. Greatest gaming moment of my life... "Well, what about Shepard? Earhtborn, but no record of his family". Not in USAF anymore, still an ME fan.

Inb4 "Mass Effect 2 isn't an RPG".

I love both games with their pros and cons, can't wait for the third. Thanks for hundreds of hours of entertainment.

People like to complain about good games because bad games are already doomed. I am one of those fans who also enjoys games because of their flaws and not just because of how awesome they are. KotOR might have been my first Bioware game, but Mass Effect made me a slave and I bought every game they made from then on... even that Sonic game for the DS.

Bioware, keep being awesome.

It's nice to see such threads... not many developer forums are like this. If you'd post a thread like this, the members would think you're a weird person and some might even mock you for showing appreciation.

Ironic isn't it?

I too am grateful for being given a chance to experience the trilogy, even though it has flaws.

I'm definitely curious on Mass Effect 3.

I am kinda looking forward to ME3, and kinda wishing it would take its time. Because I really don't want the series to be over.

Definitely my two favorite computer games of all time. +1 to the OP.

Very ironic.  I agree other forums tend to tear you down as a fanboy/girl when you try to convey something positive or any appreciation of the work done.  We benefit from their work with solid entertainment to enjoy.  BioWare above all others, for me at least, has proven to me that they can deliver time and again.  I may not agree with everything in terms of changes made in some games like ME2, but that's not what the OP was about.

We kick around and debate what we like and dislike, what we feel should be and should not, the things we want in the next one and what we don't want in the next as well.  We wouldn't do so if those involved in those threads didn't feel strongly enough to discuss them.  But those matters are for those threads and not this one.  You have to think that we wouldn't go through all that if we didn't care about the series.  By the positive posts in this thread you can see the love for the series is alive.

Ah, now this thread makes a change from the usual witchburning of people who write positive comments about BioWare. Thank you very much BioWare for Mass Effect, though each title in the series has it's drawbacks and downsides, I cannot deny that I love both games and that the pro's most definately outweigh the cons.

Also, a giant hug to OP as

Mass Effect has engrossed me into its universe. That alone says something. Bioware, you can ignore the vocal minority ("amagawd THERMAL CLIPS WUT"). Your hard work and dedication show true to masterpieces like this game series. Just so you know, you are 'officially' my favorite developers out there right now.
