Echoing the love - I got bit by the bug yet again in January and am currently putting the finishing touches on a 7th playthrough. Man I love this game. Cannot begin to express how excited I am for ME3. I'll just have to play ME2 to hold me over I guess... >.>

Haha, happened to me yesterday. Thankfully I had the day off so I finished my 7th playthrough that I had sort of abandoned a while back. Much love Bioware, you guys are the best and I can't wait for ME3!!!

Bioware interacts and listens to the community more than any devs out there and this is a fact. When you take into account that they are an AAA company as well, its all the more impressive. Keep up the good work chaps!

I'm glad we have a thread like this. I've seen too many where everyone talks about the things that they don't like about Bioware.

I'm also happy to see this thread doesn't have people complaining that there's "another appraisal thread" in the web community.

First of all I think this was a great gesture by the OP.  So many times forums are filled with nothing but complaints.  It's nice to hear something positive for a change.

I also think messages like this one don't get posted on every games forum.  A post like this speaks a great deal about Mass Effect as a game.  Its saying that people really like it, the really enjoy it.  Enough to go out of their way and tell you, "hey thanks for making my life a little more fun."  Its hard to get people to admit anything like that these days with cynicism and sarcasm being the coin of the realm, especially on the internet.

It also speaks to Mass Effect as more than a game.  It conveys that Mass Effect is an Experience -- that it is something to be experienced. Not many games can say this.  And for whatever reason, the mechanics, the story, the atmosphere, the music, whatever -- unless all of it is coming together for the most part that feeling, that geninue sort of feeling, won't ever get off the ground.  So while I am at odds to point simply one aspect of ME out I feel safe in saying that the series achieves greatness.

I could go on and on but I'll end it with something I read somewhere that summed up exactly how I feel

"Movies have Star Wars, televison has Star Trek, and now games have Mass Effect."

So, from some dude in Oregon, I just wanted to also say, Thank you for making Mass Effect and thank you for bringing space/sci-fi back in a cool new way.

Bioware is essentially the whole reason I  even bought console game systems.

I  bough the original Xbox to play Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.  I played that game again and again for literally hundreds of hours before finally buying a new game.  I  added Jade Empire to the list of Bioware games I  own and played that again and again.

Then xbox 360 came out and I didn't buy one of those until Mass Effect came out.  Like with KOTOR  I played it again and again (over a dozen playthroughs IIRC)  for hundreds of hours of total game time.  Then DAO came outand I  played the hell out of that and in less than a month DA2 will consume my life and later this year, ME3.

Bioware, your games consumed hundreds, likely well over a thousand hours of my life.  It was time well spent.

Thank you.

:)

I'd like to add my thanks as well, Mass Effect has far and away been one of, if not THE greatest games I've ever played. I love the universe, in many ways it taps into a universe I had half imagined in my brain for some time. I only just go ME1 last October and I've been hooked ever since. Like someone else said, the beginning of one of my greatest gaming experiences was "Well, what about Shepard? Earthborn, but no record of his family..."

I agree. Thank you for creating Mass Effect BioWare, for all the effort you put into it and thank you for releasing it for the PC.

@ Lycidas - so true.

But i guess thats the very point of it all, something you hit on here. Or at least your comment made me think of...

By creating such an amazing universe and such a wonderful game the responsibility becomes great as well. I trust though that everything will be great for ME3. So long as people from Bioware can read what we have to write and listen to us, I can't imagine anything going wrong.

I too will throw my hat into the "You rock, Bioware" bin.

I came super late to the Mass Effect party, purchasing both 1 and 2 in December. The only reason I did that was because my wife enjoyed Fable, so I bought her Dragon Age, and I was hooked. I finally hopped into ME when seeing both games for $20 brand new at Best Buy, and I have been hooked again by Bioware.

Bravo, Bioware. If it wasn't for you, my Xbox would probably just collect dust. The stories, characters, and universes you fabricate are so well done, I believe you may have also ruined all non-Bioware gaming for me as well.

Thanks from a lifetime Gamer who has been playing games since the Christmas his grandfather got him an original Pong...I've grown gone to school gotten married had two careers and I still get to enjoy this passion thanks to you...I buy a lot of games that don't get finished nowadays but not your stuff it's always finished and in the case of Mass Effect played over and over..I honestly didn't think that would ever happen again and the fact that I am old enough to be most posters and probably a lot of Biowares employees Father should tell you something.

Keep up the good work..please :).

I agree with you guys more than 1000%. do you know what the amazing part? Bioware continues to make RPG revolutionary way. games don't be just stuck in RPG genre. they found some hybrid solution better. then they made it like mass effect 2. now, I can see this change from dragon age 2 as well. it's a good sign. nowadays, focus on one pure rule is not a good answer. that's why Bioware is the king of RPG. I continue to pursuit for what Bioware will do. never end. keep up the good work!

It's a cracking game - the PS3 version needs a patch though before I can call it perfect.

if you asked me who bioware was 2 years ago,i wouldn't have known.after playing dargon age and the two mass effects,i want to tell everyone i meet to play a bioware game.the bioware logo is practiaclly a seal of approval that this game is awesome.you shouldn't be surprised by the praise.its nothing less than you guys deserve.

p.s.if you decide to make more mass effects with our shepards acting as an admiral who mentors us,it would be awesome.actually anything you do is probably going to be awesome.so basically, awesome!

Indeed! Always makes me laugh to some extent when the whiners on these boards complain about the games and yet they forget that unlike most other devs, Bioware DOES listen and interact with its fans.

To quote Captain Gavorn (and Skilled :P )

"Keep up the good work!"

I've been gaming since the late 80's and played countless games in that time, and I can honestly say that the two Mass Effect games are the very best i've ever played. Elite, Half Life 2, Super Mario Bros 3, Final Fantasy VI, KotoR - all games that will always be in my memory, games I remember as being truly special - Mass Effect tops them all. The characters, the stories and how they stay with you are unsurpassed for me.

So indeed, a huge thanks to the Bioware team. Playing games such as this why i'm glad I got into gaming in the first place.

Finally, some positive attitude in the sea of complaints. :) I wholeheartedly agree.

The games aren't flawless, but then nothing is. What's important is to never stop aspiring for perfection, and I feel that's exactly what Bioware does.

Thank you for giving us awe-inspiring worlds to explore, real, breathing characters to care about and epic stories to experience over and over again. You rock.
