No. I have doubt about Hawke character due to the nature of story within story.

As the person who should be called Hawke, I find it difficult to accept that:

Varric is being interrogate by Cassandra. Therefore, we know Hawke is not present. We don't know what happen to Hawke except we know he's the Champion of Kirkwall. Whatever Varric's account, things already happen. We might see Hawke started at Loitering early in the game. But that event was 10 years ago. The shadow of Hawke's past. Not the real Hawke. There are already rumor that Hawke's story might end as cliffhanger, meaning we may never know for sure where he is by the end of the story. Thus, if we are Hawke, how can we don't know our present location and what happen to ourself. Are we even alive?

If I am wrong then can someone please explain or at least assure so that I don't feel lost about my own character.

I think this game will have a cliffhanger ending where we don't know what happens to Hawk. In DA3 we will probably have a new main character, probably another warden and we will meet Hawk and he will be a companion.

On one hand, I don't want to be stuck with the same character for too long a period, but at the same time, I'm not too keen on having a revolving door of characters game in and game out.

I doubt we will see Hawke's story continued after Dragon Age 2. I develop attachments to the characters I create and would like to see that continued, but at the same time it's exciting to start a new story in a different environment.

Nope. I think the whole idea is telling different stories in DA universe. It's like Star Wars.

See.. that's what I fear. Hawke's story isn't making any sense as player character.

They said DA2's storyline may carry to DA3's storyline. If there is a war going on, then maybe many heroes will arise during it and one could be the PC.

A voiced human character named "Hawke" makes it much easier to return than The Warden persona that has so many variables. Hawke will probably be in the next game but not the main character. I am wondering if this is how all our heroes will be from now on in this series; they give you a surname and a voice actor but still let you customize a lot about them.

I doubt it. And honestly, I'm fine with having new characters for these kinds of games.

I just would like to be an elf in DA3, maybe its the case of new character in each game but as DA:O plot and certain characters are still intertwined in DA2 perhaps it shall be the same. and each game could have a domino effect on each other?

They told the DLCs for DA2 will be focused on Hawke.
This could mean Hakwe won't die in the main story.

Is Hawke gonna become the Main Character for ALL the DA games? (like Shepard in Mass Effect)
What do you think?

Well at the end of this game Hawke will be getting on in years. He'll be in his mid to late 30s which is a little old, especially in those days, for reckless adventuring.

I do hope Hawke's story won't be confined to DA2. Sure, they said that there will DA2 DLC starring Hawke. But, at the very least, DA3 could be the continuation/conclusion of Hawke's story, especially if DA2 leaves us wanting more of Hawke.

The downside to switching main characters every game is that once you get attached to one character, you're forced to play as an entirely new one.

Just like we got attached to our Wardens, then we learn that in DA2, we have to play as some new guy/gal named Hawke.

Well, what if we get attached to Hawke in DA2 ( and maybe moreso than to our Warden ), only to have to drop Hawke in favor of a new hero in DA3...........

that's true.............but if you change too much and there's no consistency, then you can cause players to lose interest.

There are exceptions, of course, like the Final Fantasy games, which are all stand alone games ( except for the direct sequels ).

Like I said above...DA2's slogan is "Rise to Power"...so...DA2 is Hawke's Rise to Power...DA3 will him useing said power lol...still the DA series isn't meant to be one big long story about one person like Baulder's Gate or whatever (which I think is entierly too long like Daggerfall but thats another topic) it's about important events that are happening in the world during the Dragon Age. If people don't want to change PC's then this isn't the series for them IMO.

No thanks. At first I was a bit bitter because I wanted to see my Warden more. When I first heard of DA2 I thought the Warden would be part of it again.

But a few months in and I love the idea of Hawke and although I will always care for my Warden's awesomeness, I kind of want to explore someone else's story within the Dragon Age world.

So when DA3 comes out, I hope it's a completely new story/character but I hope they tie it in to Origins as I'm sure there are plenty of things left unexplained. I think by having new characters/ new stories, you get to explore the Dragon Age world a bit more and can see things from different perspective, which is always nice in a game.

I don't think we will play as Hawke for ALL future games.

But maybe for Dragon Age III. If the game ends when it catches up to the time when the framing device takes place then there will be a cliffhanger.

If the Warden doesn't get a sequel, Hake doesn't get one either. Hawke can have his expansion, but that is as far as I'm willing to see it through. Dragon Age is suppose to be about Thedas.

DA:O The Warden is player character, while DA:2 Hawke character is merely a human called Hawke who might or might not be a follower. Anyway, If anyone want to play a follower role like Leliana in Leliana's Song for the cost of $60, so be it. But I pray, I will not be seeing Hawke anymore in DA3.

Uh, what. How exactly would Hawke"Might or may not be a follower"?

New Guy for Dragon Age 3. I kind of like to see the world change in sequels in Dragon Age and having to play as a different character to see a part of the world anew.

The DLC being centered on Hawke just means the DLC will be more like Watcher's keep and Witch hunt (new adventures for Hawke) instead of being like Leliana's song or Darkspawn chronicles.

Why is the new game-new PC concept so hard to grasp for some people??? It's not like no game with numerals has ever changed main characters before. No one insists that Skyrim will feature the same prisoner from Oblivion for example.
