Hawke as Main Character for all the Dragon Age Future Games?

Either way I doubt it. DA2 seems to be written around this being HIS personal story. Thus, I doubt future dragon age games being about him as well. Unless, they give us a dreaded "To be continued?" at the end of DA2.
Besides, having ANOTHER new hero would amazingly increase the chances of a Hawke cameo in DA3, now that he has a VA.

Really considering thats what Bioware was saying when they first announced him as the character? Thats been the ad campaign for ages now.AlexXIV wrote...
I don't think so.kylecouch wrote...
Theres nothing wrong with keeping one protagonist for more then one game as long as a Bioware tells the story they need to tell. I would say 3 games should be the absolute limit to spend on one character. Besides...Hawke is THE most important person that will EVER live apparently. So it's logical to assume we'll get at least a second game as Hawke. Who from a lore stand point is more important then a Grey Warden who could possibly be dead.
Obvious Hyberbole is obvious

Yes that's what I meant.Giltspur wrote...
What is it to experience storybook characters instead of personal adventures? I'm not entirely sure what you mean.Do you mean to passively watch a character's actions unfold versus imaging yourself as the main character?
I'm glad we share the same view as I find that many players are confused with third person camera view that they see player character as different person, thus, making themselves the audience.Giltspur wrote...
If so, no,that's not what I want. I think
that goes against what's best about RPG's. The best parts of an RPG,
for me at least, are what happens in your mind as a result of some
decision you make in the game. So I think
personal adventure is important and that it's good for game writers to
think of themselves not just as storytellers but also as facilitators.
Storybook characters can become anything. A frog at one time a prince at another time. Anything goes as long as the story is good and the audience feel entertain. What I mean is, we cannot be a PC at one point a NPC at another point. That's ridiculous. We already have player open thread of possible romance between The Warden and Hawke. Regardless of whatever role we play, we are still that same person.Giltspur wrote...
Whatever it means, I think "experiencing storybook characters instead of personal adventure" is probably a separate matter from whether there's more than one perspective or main character in a game.
I strongly disagree the use of PC to be NPC. My reason, Each player characters contain persona and unique experiences which is developed after long hours. This characters have personal value. Making a NPC out of any of this character kill this as NPC is AI and incorrectly represent what used to be player character.
Thank you. I will reserve my opinion until we learn more.Giltspur wrote...
You just have more than one personal adventure in one game. You still role play. But you play more than one role.
How do they intersect? Difficult as a gamer to tell right now--will be easier to speculate once we've all finished Dragon Age II. If Flemeth though has a scheme in which she manipulates both the Warden and Hawke (and both manipulations feed into her scheme), then both Hawke and the Warden could both have a stake in whatever Flemeth is up to down the line. (Flemeth does likely have ulterior motives for rescuing Warden in DAO and Hawke in DA2.) And key decisions like how the Warden handled Morrigan and Landsmeet and how Hawke went about becoming Champion could be relevant to world events in DA3, where, say, a Flemeth-hatched plot might feature. And given that Morrigan returns later in the franchise, it just seems the story could have a gravity pulling the various main characters towards her and Flemeth.
Or not. I just think it would be cool.

I definitely don't feel like they need to have us play as the Warden Commander again in order to conclude Morrigan's story.

In anycase, I'm at a point where I kind of don't care what BioWare plans to do with DA3. I'm sure I'll like it whether it be focused on a new customizable character, Hawke or the return of the Warden.

I was kind of hopping that Morigan's child could be the next customizable character for a future DA game, but that idea went out the window once she said "he" is safe.

Is this in refference to wardens who've done the ultimate sacrifice? That reminds me I need to make a warden who didn't do the Dark Ritual.

They told the DLCs for DA2 will be focused on Hawke.
This could mean Hakwe won't die in the main story.
Is Hawke gonna become the Main Character for ALL the DA games? (like Shepard in Mass Effect)
What do you think?
I wouldnt mind, as much as I like my Warden(s) I'm sure Hawke will be just as cool if not cooler.
Also it would get a tad-bit annoying playing a different character everytime. It would be pointless to create any kind of bond with them because you know you wont be seeing them again. (Maybe?)
