The horns are probably symbolic of the dark spawn taking over Lothering.

That was dull, I hope the rest of the music is better.

You complaining? There's a shock!

I don't like the music, deal with it.

You don't seem to like anything DA2 related. But you should deal with it.

Aparrently some people think music needs to be blaring and sweeping as much as it possibly can to be good. Otherwise it's "dull".

It's slow, moody, and atmospheric. What else do you want from music for a title screen?

Opinions, my friend. We can't all agree on everything - that'll be extremely dull.

It's beautiful. It's like you can hear Hawke's journey from Lothering to Champion in the music.

Now that you mention it, it does. :o

I really liked it. I especially liked the different resonance the vocalist is going at. Plus, it sounded like actual instrumentation, which is always a plus.

Didn´t like it much. It´s somewhere in between getting too far from the Origins theme and at the same time being too similar. It also sounds more "serious", from this music I would really expect a dark feeling I doubt the game will have.

I must admit, I prefer some of the Origins music (for example: Lelianna's Song - so much better than this) and I prefer the Origins main theme but it's still nice nonetheless.

Edit: It helps to listen to it with a decent pair of headphones. My PC speakers were not doing it justice.

I actually really like it. It's subtler than the DA:O theme.

I wasn't bothering you so i'd appreciate it if you'd stop bothering me.

As other people said it is much subtler then DA:O theme but i like it, i think i like DA:O theme more though, but they are both good and i like how it is recognisable to the dragon age series, i like that in games (like the elder scrolls as someone mentioned).

It sounds more subtle and wistful and less stereotypical "THIS IS YOUR HIGH FANTASY HERO YARRRR!" than the DA:O theme. I adore it.

The vocals give me CHILLS.

Wow, I love it. The strings and the vocals are so atmospheric, very fitting for the dark fantasy setting. Overall the theme is slow and moving... almost moody, but then it erupts into a heroic theme with the horns and strings near the middle. The drums also do a nice job at making it all sound more majestic, worthy of a champion.

However, I have the same complaint I had with some of the Origins themes... those damn heavy brass instruments. First at 0:45 to 0:52 and then from 1:44 to 1:52. It completely breaks the song into different sections, and not in a good way. I'd rather have a smooth transition. Now when listening to the theme I kind of jump out of my skin every time I hear those heavy brass instruments. Other than those few seconds though, the theme really pushes the right notes for me. Can't wait to hear some more.

I like it, I really like how they did not completely ditch the DA:O theme in it :D makes it more connected.

Very fitting for the menu screen if that's where it plays. Gives similar feeling DAO theme did, when i imagine it there.

Well it still sounds nice and a DA theme over it, not as epic as the first though.

Absolutely stunning I have to say. Love the Cello (pretty sure it's a Cello) and French Horn solo following it. The vocals are so moving. Just amazing. The music is one of things I'm most interested in/looking forward to for DA2, so I'm glad this was posted. Thanks, riccaborto, for sharing! :)

Eh, no, that's not it, at least, not for me. I like this menu theme just fine, which obviously isn't bombastic in the least. The DA2 theme I find dull because... I don't know, it just doesn't feel very original or memorable or inspiring. It's like Inon Zur doesn't want to take any risks with the melody, he just wants to play it safe and build on it using tried and true orchestral "tropes" (for lack of a better word-- my knowledge of musical terminology is limited) and the same themes as DAO, resulting in a very generic and unoriginal feeling.
