Hi, didn't know where to ask, so:

Is it possible to edit the face of my PC in any way? I have plenty of mods now and I just want to change the eye color of an existing PC. Is it possible to make him a preset face? That would be the most satisfactional solution for me.

Thank you in advance!

I don't think that's what I'm looking for. I want to EDIT an existing face of my PC. As I said, best way would be to make the head I created in Dragon Age (not a morph from the toolset) a preset, so I can make a new character, have the face from another save game as preset and edit eg. the eye color. Then I can replace that head with the one in my actual save. That way I don't have to create a new, but actually can edit an existing face.

(Just had a déja-vu...)
I think my reply to the other other thread 4 days ago - or to be more precise the tool - could be useful if you want to edit an existing face of your PC.

- Set new face from another savegame
- Set new face from a character maid in the Character Creator
- Set new face from game resources (example : set for your character to have the head of Morrigan)
- Extract *.mor face file from savegame
- Set new face from a face file (*.mor)
- Use Character Creator to build face for your own modules
- Edit savegame with character name and inventory size change

Does not seem to cover my needs. Am I missing something or is it just not clear what I want?
Should be:
- Edit a head made in character creation (save game)
- Set head from character creator (save game) as preset

Thanks for advice.

Alright, that way it seems to work (haven't tested, just read). Although one can obviously only change things like colors or maybe hairstyles and that without having any preview. I don't know if that's worth the effort.

Additionally I stick to the idea that it has to be possible to just set my PC's face as a preset. That would be by far easier than any other method.

Seems that the whole thing is hopeless. But thanks for the advices anyway.

MORs and MOPs have a different file structure. You can only convert a MOR into a MOP by manual editing, and it's an imprecise method - http://www.thenexusf...-into-a-preset/

If you can make the face again in a new game, this would let you switch it easily to the game you are now playing.

Sorry, but PLEASE only answer to my question! As nobody seems to know how to do the things described (I won't repeat it... again) just stop posting. I quit on that.

You've already been linked to several locations with tools/information on how to do what you are asking. (change the eye color). As far as turning your character mor into a mop to put in the character creator screen...there is no 100% easy way. Which you would know if you had read the information provided.

Yes, but as far as I understand, a MOR file is created in the toolset. The head I want to change is created ingame. Like I said, just forget about it. But thanks anyways.

......Youre in game character is using a MOR file. The Character Creater uses a MOP.  Which is why the information to change a MOR to a MOP was provided...

I don't have the toolset installed right this second, but I'm fairly certain that it can save as either a mor or a mop.

OK, then I have to apologize for my lack of knowledge. but I thought a morph is created in the toolset (thread says "Convert a morph into a preset "). I had also no idea that one is able to open the in game created head in the toolset. This way I should be able to edit it in the toolset, shouldn't I?

The toolset morph editor can either export MORs (morphs used by NPCs etc) or MOPs (presets that show up at the top of the in-game character creator). The head in your save file is stored as a MOR. Those formats are compiled. Once in that form there is no easy way to edit them (or convert between them). The non-compiled morph data is stored in the MRH format (XML basically), but this is a toolset-only resource.

Yes, you can make the character a pre-set face, if you mean that the
face setting you create shows up in the character creator as if starting
a new game. You can even change the face again from there. All
you do is create the face you like in the toolset, export it as a .mop
file after creating by selecting "Export setting" and changing the "Export .mop file" setting to "True". Then change the file name to the proper name that is used for each
race and repsective sex that is used in the creator. Just open the chargenmorphcfg file in your override folder (using note pad) and you'll see the list of file names. Once you renamed the file, just drag it to the "Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\override\\toolsetexport" folder and then you can create the face with the one you made with the creation setup as it will show there..

But the only way to do this is to create your own face, the one you want by using the toolset and exporting it as a mop file. You can use the mor file, which actually allows you to mod the save. When you edit the mop file, you actually replace one of the presets in the creator (which are nine per race and sex) with the one you use, if you do this by the way I explained above. Honestly, this is really the only way you can do this and you actually have more latitude to create a more customized face than you do with the creator, since you can actually morph different pre-sets as well as tweak the face yourself with the toolset.

I'm curious. I want to change my characters nose. I really like my character, except for the nose. So, what I don't want is to create another face in the toolset and then to replace the old face with it. I already know how to do that. But I couldn't find anything about editing an existing face (not replacing it). Is it even possible? The links provided don't seem to fit for my problem. Is there a way to convert the MOR back into an MRH, so I could work on the head in the toolset? If not, it's not soo bad. I tell myself that there were no cosmetic surgeries in the medieval times, but I would really like to know ...

No. You cannot convert compiled (MOR/MOP) morphs into an MRH. You could attempt to edit one by putting the new nose on an otherwise unchanged base morph, exporting it and then opening both MORs in the GFF editor and seeing which meshes and positional values are specified for the nose, copying one to the another. But by the time you did all that you could have just made a new morph from scratch.
