So in your eyes, what makes something an RPG is 3-4 dialogue options, limited choices and character interactions, a skeletal husk of a main story and a midget of a skill-tree.
..Right, well, I always did say that when Black Isle went belly-up the Golden Age of RPGs had ended.
As for this list of best RPGs? If we're talking in the past ten years, wouldn't that stand to name Baldur's Gate II and its expansion, Throne of Bhaal for that title? Y'know, an ACTUAL RPG, with a much longer, more in-depth story, better characters, more quests that have merit and decisions?
The bolded could be said about Baldur's Gate 1&2, and just about any other Bioware RPG, as well. There were usually no more than four responses, the vast majority of quests could only be solved two ways at most, and you could only talk to your party members so many times. Hell, in Baldur's Gate 1 they had very little dialogue at all. The Baldur's Gate series didn't even have a skill tree whatsoever, much less a "midget" one.

A 403 HTTP error? Thats... original.
BTW the server is also telling me that there was a 404 error. It is a forbidden and non-existent file error. No decent sysadmin allows his webserver to reveal that much information on a single error. Just a good advice.

I acctually never read that part, i found it an unneccesary adition, and leading away from the main point.
But you can't dismiss Most of the conclusions he made.

I can dismiss almost every point he makes. He's one of those people who needs to be hand held through the entire movie, having things explained to him.
"But then when we arrive during an attack in progress we see the aliens land their massive ship next to the colony. It’s got a footprint like a sports stadium, it’s hundreds of meters tall, and it takes off using rocket boosters. How could you miss something like that at the other colonies?"
This is someone just trying to find something to criticize. Ships have mass effect fields... they don't land. Look at the shape of the collector ship - you really think it landed like that? And it fired the rockets because we opened up on it. Ships don't need to fire their thrusters to take off - look at Sovereign departing from Eden Prime or the Geth ship on Novaria. The only time you would need to fire the thrusters is for rapid deceleration or acceleration, like the Normandy or a Geth ship dropping off a team.
There are very legitimate criticisms of the game, its gameplay, the plot and the story but when people are reaching this far, you know they're trying too hard.

Planescape: Torment.
Mass Effect: Trilogy.
I think there will be one more soon enough: Guild Wars 2 (wich will be the first true MMORPG).

To be honest, as good as Mass Effect 2
is, it's kind of hard to know if it's the best RPG of it's decade,
since there are 8 more years left in it.
Hmh, you do realize 2011 is new decade while ME2( on PC and XBox 360) was released in 2009, previous decade?

Anyways... I'd like to just address something which irritates me about DnD comparisons (and the games they are based on).
I like table-top gaming... but lets be honest... DnD was NOT a deep system for character customization. Other than a very narrow set of criteria for what you wanted to be at character creation... you got very little in the way of customization as you leveled up. Leveling in DnD was a matter of getting hit points.... and occasionally assigning a proficiency. Same in Torment or Baldur's Gate. Great... I just went to level 5 as a fighter... and I get 3 hitpoints? Wtf? 3 Hitpoints? That's it?
Be fair.... in ME2 you get something every level... and it's something that YOU choose where to allocate.
