...How?  I see tattoos/experimented upon to be a weapon. I could say I see Merrill as a verion of Zevran because tattoos/Dalish heritage.

...and Anders, for a somewhat existential menage a trois. I just don't see them doing a dwarf romance.

They promise to do a dwarf romance at some point...I just don't see it being Varric. Especially with the more obvious and likely candidate of Anders.

As it happens you are probably right, history shows us that the male gamer always gets more.
Either way, I am really looking forward to the game and have pre ordered two signature editions (PS3 and 360)  and have had money sidelined for ages for it!

Hey, I'm a gal too and I'm not saying it's fair, I've just learned to be satisfied with the fact that the best girls are going to get is equality, I doubt anyone at BW has even considered giving women gamers -more- LIs than men, their primary target audience. Basically, we're lucky they even decided to give us the same amount of LIs, it seems.

I think Fenris is a shoo-in, he seems like Thane, tailor made to appeal to women with his sensitive tragicness and mystery. Which makes me all the more anxious for Anders.

I would have thought with the changes in Anders that a romance with him would be equally dysfunctional.

This would give me further pause toward the idea of a Varric romance, how would the overall narration playout or be affected by such a thing?

Well, that does seem like an absolute guarantee Fenris is a LI, since we know who all the other companion and their writers are.

That said, there is most likely another companion in DLC. If Sebastian is a LI, then so would that (probably female) companion.

Yeah, I'm not too bothered by the though of femhawkes having more LIs than male ones. I just remember that in BG2 males had three LIs and females had only one, and he was an arrogant ****** who talked like he was in a trashy romance novel and seemed to believe it
I think Sebastian being a love interest would be really great, and a nice progression for DLC characters, since Zaeed and Kasumi in ME2, being a LI as well would integrate him into the game more, Zaeed and Kasumi feel definitely like add-ons to me, especially on the Normandy, though Kasumi may be my favorite shipmate after Garrus
most likely another DLC companion? that'd be very cool, especially if female and a LI as you're speculating
