At least Jack Wall is out. Wall made a great, orchestral, and mind numbingly generic soundtrack for ME2 that could have stood in for any number of other games or films. Not that I think we have any reason at all to expect anything different from Mr. Mansell.
If EA/Bioware wanted someone with a semi-big name who had experience scoring a film they should have got Daft Punk.
Seriously, Daft Punk.

I want to know if Mansell doing the whole score, or if he'll be working with The Wall of Sound.
I kinda hope that the Wall of Sound folk is not completely out.
Kinda like how Harry Gregson Williams only scored some central themes in Metal Gear Solid (2-4) but the rest of the soundtrack was done by "in-house" guys.

Don't get me wrong, this guy is good, but the synth! I fear it's all going to be string and piano based.
Don't worry...there can still be synth!!
Okay you just got me listining to some of Clint's more recent music and...
...I think that this is exactly what Mass Effect 3 needs.
But once again, I digress that certain themes still need to make a return, including 'Illusive Man', galaxy map song, Shepard's spectre theme, the Mass Effect theme, Reaper theme, Normandy theme, M4 faunts, and ME2 character themes when necessary)

As some others have stated listen to Lux Aeterna and you will know him. If anything is as epic as that...color me very very excited. Good call Bioware! The Elite Elite wrote...

Most people who follow such composers generally consider him to be quite the innovator. Personally, I think he's right up there with Bear McCreary (composer for Battlestar Galactica and Dark Void) in terms of originality. He has a very distinct sound. He's not as prodigious as a John Williams or Hans Zimmer, but the quality is undeniable.
@N7Infernox: Careful, if you cram in too many old scores--even if they are good--you'll have no room for new and potentially better scores that could better suite a particular situation.

Don't care, as long as the Faunts get to close out the game i'm happy.
I don't know. M4 was essentially a concept album. The rest of their work isn't quite as fitting, though Feel.Love.Thinking.Of is a great album.
I was thinking about bands that might be suitable for use during the end credits of ME3, and Kyte would be a great fit.

I know most people know the Requiem for a Dream score best, but my favorite film works of his are in The Fountain and Moon.

Seriously. Everybody is spamming the Requiem for a Dream theme everywhere. I'm so frigging tired of it; if he makes anything even remotely resembling it, I'm gonna rage.
That Dead Reckoning song has a similar theme. Damn it.

He made Moon's soundtrack as well? Now I'm even more excited!
