Well now that we know Aveline out as a LI we can assume that the straight LI are Isabela and Merril.  Both recycled characters from DAO.  Why would you do this?  Now I know I will get the flood of posts about how I don't know the characters and we have to play the game to get a real sense of who they really are.   But the whole point is we DO know who they are.  Isabela was a pirate that would teach you how to fight with two swords and sleep with anything.  If she suddenly has more morals about sex well then she is not the same character. And Merril is a stuffy Dalish Elf that is by the book of how her people do things.  Is she is not then they have changed her allot. NeaNeither ther of which are very apealing...  Bah this is just lame.
Ok this turned into more rant then I wanted but there you have it...

I'd play the game first before you assume what characters are like from a 5 minture exposure in DA:O

I really can't imagine what you're going through. I mean, knowing who your options are, and NONE of their superficial, yet potentially interesting, qualities appealing to you, personally.

It is truly a hard burden to carry.

Merrill was in the Dalish origin for about 5-10 minutes with a very small amount of dialogue. She's practically a blank slate.

I think Bioware would have made a good choice with having Aveline as an LI...but alas

We really don't know what Merril is like. We saw her for a short time early in her life.



My Warden certainly wasn't the same person by the end of the quest that he was at the start.

possibly, but it also makes sense that she is not. I know quite a few people who wouldnt feel like falling in love again, even 10 years later, after losing a beloved husband.

Sooo....you're rather brief interaction with two females from DA:O is all you need to know who these character really are? You act as if you spent the entire DA:O adventure getting to know these characters. I mean look at how much we learned about character like Alister, Leilana and Morrigan. If you were to go just by their first impression (which is what you are doing with Isabell and Merril) you'd miss out on who they really are.



And even if you don't like them enough to romance them, why is that lame? What is wrong with Bioware creating a character that might just not appeal to you on that level? I mean I never attempted to romance Morrigan, and that's because she didn't appeal to me in that way.

Well, they said you can loosen aveline up a bit over the ten years and that there are things with her later as she gets over her husband....at least you have that....

Well to be 100% fair...it's extremely possible,  since one of these fine gentlemen is also bisexual....

I wouldn't speak for the whole female fanbase if I were you. Plenty of people are excited about the possibility of a romance for those characters.

You just know people hate Isabela because she's more open minded than they are.
