I've read somewhere that Carnage will cancel the effects of Immunity but only after the first playthrough. Is this true? I really don't feel like investing that much into a character just to find that out.

Thanks.

I read that it always does this. That makes more sense anyway. Why would it only do so after the first playthrough?

But really you'll find that it doesn't matter because your cooldown with Barrier/Immunity becomes so low that they're basically spammable.

Yep this is a known issue that has been there from day one. I don't know if it actually only applies after the first playthrough or not (that was quite some time ago). It also affects barrier. IIRC if you raise immunity or barrier to master (12 points) it will prevent this from happening.

It sucks for sure, but like I said at high levels it becomes a non-issue since cooldowns are so low. So I don't think it's a waste to have a soldier or a vanguard that uses shotguns. My shotgun vanguard with singularity was by far my favorite character in ME1.
