Why Anders and not Sigrun?

FemHawke and Varric is one of my desired romances in DA2. Heck if he's not better than the dysfunctional twins, Fenris and Anders I'll go heave.Solostran85 wrote...
They made an interesting choice going with Anders, especially since what has happened to him. Sigrun just seemed dull to me, she doesn't seem like she would have much of a story to tell in this game. And who in the right mind would want to romance a dwarf?

Never liked Sigrun. However this could probably be attributed to the fact that her quest was glitched for the longest time.
Hated the elf girl. Anders was alright. Really liked Nathaniel and Justice the most in Awakenings.
Is she still glitched or have have they released a patch yet?

The best ending for her involved her staying with the wardens.jackkel dragon wrote...
As much as I liked Sigrun, isn't she dead? It's heavily implied in every ending I've had where she wasn't killed that she went to finish her job (dying) in the Deep Roads.

The party banter in Awakening certainly indicates that something like the Anders/Justice joining might happen. I'm running my human noble rogue (queen!) through Awakening now, so the conversations between Anders/Nathaniel/Justice about Fade spirits, host bodies, and Anders' issues with the Circle, etc.is pretty fresh atm.
Based on the banter I saw, I would have guessed Nathaniel would have been the more likely host. It really seemed like he was nearly suggesting it at one point.
But I'm really glad it was Anders instead. I found Nathan incredibly dull.
For a Howe, I'm not sure that seeming dull is a bad thing - hah! Despite the whole Cousland family murder-spree by his dad, Nate was a decent guy (also kind of not bad looking - heh). I can see why you'd choose Nate as the likeliest candidate; he and Justice seem to have had the deepest conversations as far as the banter goes.
However, when I was playing earlier that bit where Justice encourages Anders about rebelling against the templars/Chantry popped up. I think Justice tends to be attracted to causes (like the trapped villagers in the Black Marsh), and maybe that's why he ultimately ended up with Anders.

What better way then then to force us to take a formerly a favorite character that by the illogical wave of the writer's pen has become an abomination (sarc).

This. John Cleese in DA2 would be EPIC!
Anywho, yeah I wouldn't have minded seeing Sigrun come back as well. I certainly would've liked her as a romance option. (Why do we not have any female dwarves as romance options? I like short women.) But Anders is pretty good too. I'll like seeing him and Justice again.

Also, if I am going to be completely honest and serious in this post: I would rather see Velanna before I saw Sigrun (even though I really enjoyed her character) again in another Dragon Age game (or DLC), because of how unresolved her story is.

As simple as this! Sigrun has no story to tell it was finished in awakening and her charater was a little happy for me
Right. Her best ending is spending the rest of her life fighting Darkspawn.
Anders is the only one that makes sense. Unless you killed him, I suppose, but you'd have to be a fool to let the Architect walk, regardless.

I don't get why folks have such a hate-on for Velanna. So she misjudged a situation and killed a bunch of people. Haven't we all?
Um no. The problem a lot of us have with Velanna is that she not only misjudged a situation that she should not have (10 minutes of any real investigation would have reveated the truth, and Oghren of all people knew that something was wrong with Velanna's story in 10 seconds...and if Oghren can see it, anyone should be able to).
What's worse is even after she admits that the Darkspawn were responsible, she shows no sign of regret or remorse EVER and figures, that if humans weren't guilty of this "genocidal crime" (and she uses those words), then they are guilty of some other, so who cares?
Put a real life criminal in front of me that is clearly guilty of mass murder (and Velanna is) with as little sign of regret or remose that she shows, and I'll happily kill her as a service to society. Even the DALISH tend to agree with that (which is why she was exiled to begin with!)

I'll direct you to this.
- Velanna: What sort of atonement would be appropriate?
- Justice: You have reconsidered, then?
- Velanna: I am simply curious to hear what you think would be suitable.
- Justice: Teach them. Show these humans what they are so carelessly destroying.
- Velanna: And if they do not listen?
- Justice: Then you have done what you could.
- Velanna: It's... worth thinking about.

That doesn't show remorse to me. If anything it shows she's playing with Justice and Justice and Velanna if you have both of them together do NOT get along. If you try to get Velanna to admit responsibility she wracks up a -4 approval and it goes downhill from there. In fact almost any sane thing you say to Velanna nets disapproval. The Mass murderer isn't worth my time and doesn't deserve to live anyway. Even the Dalish agree with that.dreamextractor wrote...

But Mr. Polaris, aren't we all guilty of mass murder? It's like Jesus said, "Let he who is without a whole forest of corpses cast the first stone."
No, I think I can safely say that while we all "sin" in the religious sense (or transgress on others in the social sense), most of us aren't mass murderers.
Just guessing here....
