So why was the Signature Edition pre orders discontinued 2 months before release again?

From what I heard it is only extra dlc.  Will it include some shiny tin case which makes it limited or something?  I see no reason why they'd stop taking pre orders 2 months before the release if they don't include something that makes it a limited edition.

It also includes an assortment of weapons ans such that are only for Signature Edition... and well, if people really wanted them. They should have pre-ordered when they had the chance. Bioware even extended the normal deadline if I remember correctly... basically ya snooze ya lose.

They didn't stop taking pre-orders. They just stopped taking orders for the SE.

It was limited time only.

You can still pre-order, you just can't get the SE any more.

The SE was extra incentive to entice people to preorder DA2 several months early by giving an extra companion / quest and the soundtrack for free.

It's dollars to donuts that the companion and sound track will be for sale later as DLC (possibly the day of release)

To keep them exclusive, so that more people would pre-order the game early. Pretty simple really.

It's a marketing ploy. After all, you'll rake in more preorders with a SE of the game especially one that's limited time. I got it, of course I'm a DA fan so I wasn't going to pass it up. Though I wouldn't worry to much. The extra character DLC is going to be a day one DLC when the game comes out but if you didn't get the Signature Edition of the game it's going to cost $7.99 or however may points it costs for Microsoft and PC games, not entirely sure, I think 1600 Microsoft points though I'm not positive.

....They cut off the pre orders TWO MONTHS before release....I would've pre ordered tommorow but not any more when I will be paying for a game with less content.

1) some people never got the chance to
2) no, they did not extended it and coincidentally , steam pre-orders opened the day after it was over

Yes, that's usually how exclusivity works.

Were you living under a rock? There were tons of ads and commercials that said it was exclusive. Did that not mean anything for you?

I was in a very comfortable rock and didn't hear about this until now

I'm glad they offered it and that they had it only for a select time frame. After all, something needs to be done for us die hards, but I don't think it will be as nice as the first one was. I am really glad to see they also came out with the Hardcover CE Strategy Guide again. This one even looks better then the first one.

With all of the advance notice, like months ahead of time and then almost weekly warnings towards the cut off, how could any loyal fan not know about it?

The count down has begun, I'm now actually starting to get stoked up about the game....

Well sucks because the 3? weapons/items can't be bought as DLC as far as I know, maybe for an ultimate edition someday somehow.

These threads will probably pop up more often from now on. Not everyone who's interested in buying DA2 is a loyal Bioware fan. A majority of customers don't read forums, or decide to buy a game so far in advance. Some of them will feel screwed over. There is a point when exclusive dlc deals become too much: www.youtube.com/watch  (replace nuclear energy with dlc)

I remember it was mentioned that you also get a discount for future DLC on DA2.

The problem with comfortable rocks is that you eventually have to come out for air and it doesn't look so comfortable outside anymore.

Worse that you didn't get the Signature Edition?

Plus they're just tricking you guys to make you guys think that you're special but in reality they know they will get your money for future dlc. I buy the dlc anyways for Mass Effect 2 but I know they could care less what people think how good or bad their games are or their decisions on things.

I would've bought the game without this stuff.  That just got me to pre order when I was going to do it anyway just sooner than planned lol.  If you won't buy it just cause you're not gonna get a few extra items than I feel sorry for you there must be a ton of games you wont get because OMG I can't get this free!

Because they set a time limit and made it really, really clear in advance? *reads last post by OP* Yeah, my first instinct to not take this thread seriously was clearly, clearly correct.

If the game is good and the DLCs are good, why wouldn't I want to spend my money for them?

People said EA/Bioware is rewarding their hardcore fans with signature edition but like I said they're trying to make you guys feel special so they'd make more money off dlc

No offense dude, but something tells me you've got somekind of heat against thoes of us who decided to buy the game in advance; don't know why though. Whether it's good or bad don't tell me I made a mistake with my money on taking advantage of an offer that was given to me. Especaily on a product I had every intetion of purchasing even if it wasn't a signature edition.
