Sorry if this has already been addressed somewhere else.  I have looked through so many posts and couldn't find a fix for my problem.

After finishing ME2 I decided to buy ME1 to get the full experience.  I bought the steam version of ME1 and it has been a total headache.  I think I have all the graphic crashes under control now, but I still constantly get the "saving content" screen staying on even after it has already saved.  The only way I can get it back to normal is reloading the game.... and that is really annoying to have to do every 10-15 minutes of gameplay.  I have the proper save & config folders in My Docs/Bioware  location also but there still seems to be some problem.

I am running windows 7 also.

If anyone knows how to fix this please help :)

Did you get the ME1 patch? It sounds like it's not patched

beyond that without you providing your fulls specs and more details there isn't much more to suggest.

"But i can run *insert game here*" doesn't really mean anything since all games are a different kettle of fish.

Steam is supposed to automatically patch everything, but I feel like it hasn't.

Specs

Intel Core2 DuoCPU 2.66GHz

4GB RAM

32 Bit OS Windows 7

NVIDIA GEForce 8600 GTS (2 of them)

If I am missing any info let me know.

Is there any way through steam to get it to download patches? I wouldn't know since i don't use things like steam personally.

Also what drivers are you using for your GPU? if it's the latest something you could try is rolling them back a couple of editions. In many cases this can solve graphical errors with Mass Effect. The latest drivers are configured for newer GeForce cards and the older ones like yours suffer as a result.

I found a way to manually DL the patch, things seem to be working pretty OK so far, lots of choppyness during the cinematics, but I can try to work on that. I'll post again if I get the problem :)

i'd look at those graphics drivers if you have choppy issues. rolling them back may fix that.
